How to use Google Veo 3

By Matic Broz ·

Google’s Veo 3 is hands down the most impressive AI video generator right now. In less than two weeks since its release, it’s sparked dozens of hot topics, from the Bigfoot vlogs trend to companies using it for video ads. It looks like AI is ready to replace stock footage.

But despite its popularity, it’s not clear how to use Veo 3. The easiest way is through Google Flow, but that requires a costly Google AI Ultra plan for $250 a month.

So, let’s try to simplify things: consider this your complete guide to all platforms where you can use Veo 3. I tested dozens over the last week: I’d already been using three of them before, and I added three more to the list.

Table of contents:

What is Veo 3?

Google’s Veo 3 is the latest and most advanced video generation model. Unlike Veo 2, Veo 3 generates native audio along with video, offers higher resolution with more realistic physics, better lip-syncing, and enhanced understanding of complex narrative prompts. Currently, it’s better than OpenAI’s Sora and Runway Gen-4

This toolkit is perfect for creating AI vlogs, a new phenomena that has taken over the internet. Below is an example I created in 3 minutes using Envato.

Veo 2 vs. Veo 3 Fast vs. Veo 3 Quality

Veo 3 Fast (or Turbo) and Veo 3 Quality are different modes of the same core Veo 3 AI model, rather than entirely distinct models. Veo 2, on the other hand, is the previous version of the Veo models.

Veo 3 platforms at a glance

Google Veo 3 is available through Google Flow and Gemini, but requires the expensive AI Ultra plan ($250/month).

Google’s Veo 3 is their latest and most advanced video generation model, but unlike some AI tools, it’s not available through a single platform. Instead, multiple services offer access to Veo 3 with different pricing models, features, and capabilities. Here’s a comprehensive guide to all the platforms where you can use Veo 3.

EnvatoCheapest Veo 3 usage$16.50/month (annual) or $39/month (monthly) for 15 videos~$1.10
FreepikComplete AI suiteFrom $5.75/month to $158/month for 1 to 75 videos$2-$9
Pollo AI1-minute videosFrom $25/month to $660/month$9-$10
Google AI UltraAccess to all Google AI tools$250/month$2
fal.aiDevelopersUsage-based API$0.50-$0.75 per second
veo3.aiMultiple model access$49.90/month or $449.90/year$9.30-$13.30

Envato

Best platform for cheap Veo 3 access and a large media library

Envato is already one of the most affordable footage platforms, and now they also offer a Veo 3 integration at zero extra cost. Included with everything else, you get 15 generations per month, which works out to just over $1 per generation, by far the cheapest usage of Veo 3.

But the low cost does come at a tradeoff of duration—with Envato, you can create only videos of up to 5 seconds long, while most other platforms offer up to 8 seconds. Still, at this price, you could get two or even three Envato subscriptions, and it would still be cheaper than other offers in this list.

Included with the subscription, you also get unlimited downloads from the collection of 22 million files, image, music, and voice gen, and integrations into popular creative software like Adobe, Figma, and Canva.

  • Envato pricing: $16.50/month (annual billing) or $39/month (monthly billing)
  • Cost per Veo 3 video: ~$1.10
  • Video specs: 5 seconds, 720p
  • Extra features: 22 million royalty-free assets, image generation, and audio generation

Freepik

Best platform for a complete AI suite with multiple video gen models

Freepik offers access to Veo 3 with many other video generation models, like Kling, Runway, Pika, and others. You can experiment with different models to find the best results for each use case. If Veo 3 doesn’t deliver what you want, you can try Runway or Kling with the same credits.

Freepik uses a credit system where video generation consumes credits, and you can use those same credits throughout their AI suite for image generation, upscaling, and other tools. (Keep in mind that using credits for other AI tools means fewer Veo 3 videos. ) It’s ideal for creators who want flexibility and access to the latest AI models as they become available.

  • Freepik pricing: From $5.75/month (annual) or $9/month (monthly) for 1 video, up to $158/month for 75 videos.
  • Cost per Veo 3 video: $2–$8 (no audio) or $3–$9 (with audio)
  • Video specs: 8 seconds, 720p
  • Extra features: Multiple AI video models (Veo 3, Kling, Runway, etc.), complete AI suite, image generation, upscaling tools. Royalty-free library with 140 million assets.

Pollo AI

Best Veo 3 platform for longer videos (up to 1 minute)

Pollo.ai partnered with Google Cloud to offer Veo 3 access with a unique selling point: creating videos up to 60 seconds long, much longer than other platforms.
Pollo.ai offers different subscription tiers with different credit allocations and pricing based on usage needs.

  • Pollo AI pricing: From $25/month (annual) or $29/month (monthly), up to $660/month
  • Cost per Veo 3 video: $9 (no audio) or $10 (with audio)
  • Video duration: Up to 60 seconds
  • Additional features: Complete AI suite including image generation, voice synthesis, upscaling.

Google AI Ultra

Best Veo 3 platform for Google ecosystem integration

Google AI Ultra provides direct access to Veo 3 with Google’s complete suite of AI tools. At $250/month, it’s a premium offering that includes video generation plus Flow (Google’s AI filmmaking tool), Whisk for image-to-video creation, 12,500 monthly AI credits, and better access to Gemini across Google’s apps. For users in the Google ecosystem, this offers the smoothest experience.

  • Google AI Ultra pricing: $250/month
  • Cost per Veo 3 video: $2
  • Video resolution: 1080p
  • Additional features: Flow filmmaking tool, Whisk, Gemini integration, 12,500 AI credits, YouTube Premium, 30TB storage

fal.ai

Best Veo 3 platform for developers

fal.ai was the first platform to offer Veo 3 as an API, making it the go-to choice for developers who want to integrate video generation into their applications. The platform is built for technical users who want programmatic access instead of a web interface, with clear per-second pricing and robust infrastructure.

fal.ai charges $0.50 per second for video without audio and $0.75 per second with audio, keeping pricing transparent and predictable for developers. If you’re building an app or service that needs video generation capabilities, fal.ai provides the most straightforward API access to Veo 3.

  • fal.ai pricing: Usage-based API pricing
  • Cost per second: $0.50 (no audio) or $0.75 (with audio)
  • Video specifications: Up to 8 seconds, 720p, 16:9 and 9:16 aspect ratios

veo3.ai

Best Veo 3 platform for accessing multiple video models

veo3.ai is a multi-model platform where you can use your credits for Veo 3 and other text-to-video and image-to-video models. This gives you flexibility to experiment with different AI video generators based on your needs and creative vision.

The platform offers straightforward subscription plans with commercial rights included, making it good for professional use. If you want to compare different video generation models side-by-side and aren’t tied to one ecosystem, veo3.ai provides good flexibility.

  • veo3.ai pricing: $49.90/month or $449.90/year (Pro plan)
  • Cost per Veo 3 video: $9.30 (no audio) or $13.30 (with audio)
  • Video specifications: 8 seconds, 1080p
  • Additional features: Access to multiple video generation models with same credits

How to choose the right Veo 3 source/provider?

Choosing the right platform for Veo 3 depends on many factors: your budget, technical skills, desired video length, and whether you need extra AI tools.

Choose Envato if you want the lowest cost per video (~$1.10) and can enjoy their massive library of royalty-free assets. It’s perfect for hobbyists, small creators, or anyone testing the waters with AI video generation.

Choose Freepik or Pollo AI if you need more than just video generation. Both offer complete AI suites including image generation, voice synthesis, and upscaling. Freepik starts cheaper ($5.75/month), while Pollo AI is the only platform offering 60-second videos—a game-changer if you need longer content.

Choose Google AI Ultra if you’re already invested in Google’s tools and want the most integrated experience. At $250/month, it’s expensive, but you get Flow (Google’s AI filmmaking tool), Whisk, enhanced Gemini access across all Google apps, and 12,500 monthly AI credits that work across many tools.

Choose fal.ai if you need API access for building applications or automating workflows. The usage-based pricing ($0.50-$0.75 per second) means you only pay for what you use, and it’s perfect for programmatic video generation.

Choose veo3.ai if you want to experiment with different video generation models beyond just Veo 3. Your credits work across many models, making it ideal for comparing outputs and finding the best tool for each project.

Google Veo 3: FAQs

Researching for this article, I found several unanswered questions that require short responses. I’ve also had a few of my own. Here are the answers I’ve come up with.

How to use Veo 3 for free?

If you just want to test Veo 3 for fun and not for any commercial projects, it makes sense that you don’t want to pay. But I have to disappoint you that this is impossible. Running Veo 3 is extremely computationally expensive, so it’s not feasible for companies to give free trials of this advanced video model.

The closest to free usage of Veo 3 is Envato, which offers video gen at zero extra cost. Their subscription has remained unchanged despite introducing several AI tools that are included for free. So, if you need royalty-free assets anyway, using Veo 3 within Envato will be basically free.
