Motion Array is owned by Artlist. Because of this relationship, the two stock footage sites share some features, such as video editing plugins and AI voiceovers.
But while Artlist is built primarily with video editors in mind, Motion Array is designed for a wider group, including freelancers and various types of content creators. The library includes videos, audio files, photos, graphics templates, and even learning materials. This wide selection makes it a direct alternative to Envato Elements.
You should consider Motion Array if you are looking for something like Envato Elements but are focused more on video projects.

What’s new with Motion Array?
Here’s a rundown of what’s new since my last review:
- AI Voiceovers: Motion Array got the same text-to-speech tool as Artlist did a few months earlier. It allows you to generate pretty realistic narration without having to hire costly voice actors.
- Updated pricing and a new plan: By adding the new AI feature, Motion Array also had to add a new plan—AI Voiceovers. At the same time, Motion Array also tweaked the pricing of its Video Templates and Everything plans. Our partner discount no longer gives you a flat $50 off, but instead two extra months.
- New plugins: Motion Array added 10 new video-editing plugins to its array (pun intended), now offering 50 instead of 40. The extension now works with the latest versions of Premiere Pro and After Effects, too.

How much does Motion Array cost?
Motion Array has updated its plans a few times over the last years. The two choices for personal use are the Video Templates and Everything plans. Both allow unlimited downloads, but they differ in what assets you can actually download and the features and tools you get.
Note: Photutorial readers get a special Motion Array discount that grants you 2 extra months with every annual subscription.
| Motion Array plan | Video Templates | Everything | AI Voiceover |
|---|---|---|---|
| Billed monthly | $15.99/month | $24.99/month | – |
| Billed annually | $23.99/month | $39.99/month | $10.99 – $15.99/month |
| Video templates, presets, motion graphics | ✅ | ✅ | – |
| Footage, images, music & SFX, LUTs | – | ✅ | – |
| Plugins, extensions | – | ✅ | – |
| AI voiceovers | 75,000 credits (~1.5 hours) | 50,000 – 200,000 | |
| Coupon | 2 extra months | 2 extra months | 2 extra months |
The Video Templates plan costs $15.99 per month if billed yearly, or $23.99 if you pay month-to-month. It unlocks motion graphics, video templates, and presets. This plan does not include music, stock footage, images, or any tools. So pick this one if your work is based mostly on templated edits or graphic intros.
The Everything plan includes everything from the Video Templates plan, plus stock footage, music, sound effects, images, LUTs, and plugins. You also get complimentary 75,000 AI voiceover credits (roughly 1.5 hours of generated narration worth ~$11).
Priced at $24.99 per month with an annual commitment ($39.99 per month if billed monthly), it’s more affordable than most alternatives. For instance, Envato Elements costs $16.50 per month, Artlist $39.99 per month, and Storyblocks $35 per month. (Note: Here, I compared video subscriptions that are most similar to the Motion Array’s Everything plan.)
If you’re interested in just AI voiceover, you can pick a separate plan starting at $10.99 per month for 50,000 credits, scaling up to $13.99 per month for 100,000 credits or $15.99 per month for 200,000 credits (about four hours of audio).

Teams of up to 7 members have their own version of the Everything plan that costs $323.99 per year, per member ($27 per month). It gives access to the Everything plan plus 100,000 AI voiceover credits and a dashboard for managing members and projects. Larger organizations can get custom enterprise features, such as advanced licensing terms and dedicated support, by contacting Motion Array.
Content library has everything a video editor needs
By subscribing to Motion Array, you get unlimited access to over 2 million digital assets, growing monthly by about 50,000 new assets. The collection currently includes:
- Footage (up to 8K resolution)
- Video templates compatible with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, MOGRT, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Rush
- LUTs and presets for After Effects, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve
- Music and sound effects
- Motion graphics
- Stock photos and graphics, such as illustrations, vectors, icons, templates, mockups
Due to the value they provide, unlimited subscriptions typically grant access to smaller media libraries than standard subscriptions. In this category, Motion Array’s collection is about average. It’s larger than Artlist’s ~300K files and Epidemic Sound’s ~250K music files, but smaller than 22+ million at Envato Elements.

Despite the okay size, the quality of assets is far above average. Most of the files seem to be created by professionals, so I rarely find a file that I don’t like. The variety is also good enough for me to find what I need relatively quickly.
Like most unlimited subscriptions, Motion Array also has a daily download limit of 150 daily downloads to prevent abuse and scraping. That’s above average since many providers limit this to about 40 daily. The 150-limit is high enough that I’ve never had issues with it.
Typical royalty-free license
In short: the license is like any other without hidden tricks. You can use media commercially across streaming and social platforms. For excruciating details, you can read below.
Motion Array has a simple licensing structure for its digital media products through monthly or annual paid subscriptions. Once subscribed, you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free license every time you download a file from Motion Array’s library.
This license grants you the flexibility to include these files in a variety of creative projects, from films and videos to multimedia presentations, websites, advertisements, live performances, and even print media. The license also allows you to store Motion Array products on servers, image libraries, or networks for viewing by the licensee. Print usage is limited to 500,000 copies, and you would need to contact Motion Array directly for a larger license.

There are a few usage limitations to keep in mind. You can download up to 150 Motion Array items daily, but automated downloading is prohibited. The license applies to single users, though team plans are available for up to 7 users. For larger companies (over 50 employees), Motion Array offers custom licensing arrangements.
Certain restrictions are built into the license to protect the content. You aren’t allowed to resell or distribute files as standalone products, use them in templates intended for multiple clients, or incorporate them into logos, trademarks, or service marks. Files can’t be posted online in a downloadable format or used on customization service websites like Fiverr, YouTube, or Vimeo. The content is also off-limits for machine learning or AI training. Special permission is required from Motion Array to create merchandise, such as mugs, t-shirts, or posters.
Some projects require extra licensing. For instance, outdoor or billboard ads, large print runs over 500,000 copies, and templates for third-party use all fall under specific licensing terms. Companies needing these expanded rights should contact Motion Array directly to set up the appropriate arrangements.
Modern, intuitive interface
Motion Array features a dark-themed interface that might look different at first if you’re coming from traditional stock media sites like Shutterstock. For video editors, though, this design feels natural since it mirrors most professional editing software. The dark theme reduces eye strain during long sessions.
The interface quickly becomes familiar once you adjust to the dark theme (which can’t be changed).

You can begin searching in two ways: either select your desired media type from the menu for direct access to the search page, or click the magnifying glass icon in the top left, choose media type from the dropdown, and type your keywords.
Both paths lead to the same destination. Apart from the dark theme, the search page layout is straightforward. Media previews appear in the center, while customized filters for each media type are displayed in the left sidebar.

I often use the sidebar filters to find media faster. These filters change based on what you’re looking for. For videos, you’ll see options for resolutions, orientations, and FPS, while music offers filters for BPM, length, genre, mood, instrument, and video theme with preview options.

To explore a media item, simply click on it to open its detail page. There, you’ll find the full title, creator name, and specs (such as codec, resolution, size, fps, and available formats for videos).
If you like the item, you can download and license it or save it to a collection for later. Below, you can browse similar options that might better match your needs.
Great video plugins and integrations
Although Motion Array sunsetted the portfolio builder, it was praised for (well, I praised it), there are now several other, much more useful tools that make it a good purchase.
Note: Most of these features are available only through the Everything plan.
Adobe extensions
As a content creator, I love tools that make my workflow easier and less distracting so I can focus on my work. One such tool is the Marketplace Extension for Adobe.
It’s a plugin that enables you to browse Motion Array’s collection from certain Adobe apps. It currently supports After Effects (18.4), Premiere Pro (15.4), and Photoshop, with Audition and Premiere Rush coming soon.

When I use it, it allows me to search and browse Motion Array’s entire library of assets inside my Adobe applications. I can also sort and filter results to find the perfect assets more easily. And when I find what I want, I can download right from the panel, with a single click.
Although amazing for workflow, this extension is not groundbreaking; many stock media marketplaces offer their own versions, including Adobe Stock (natively part of all Adobe apps), Shutterstock, iStock, Envato Elements, Epidemic Sound, and Artlist.
Video-editing plugins
Like its parent company, Artlist, Motion Array offers the same video-editing plugins. Currently, these 50+ plugins work with Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
Note: most plugins support all four editors, but some of them work with only one or a few programs.

These plugins help speed up your creative process by adding visual effects. I often use Lens Flare Engine to add lens flares to videos, for instance. It includes controls like color, saturation, hue shift, exposure, scale, and blend. Other plugins work similarly.
The plugins cover many categories, as shown below. They mainly focus on adding visual effects, removing green screen, and color grading.

Getting started is simple. First, download the Motion Array Hub (available for Windows and Mac), which manages all your plugins. Once installed, you can hover over each plugin to see previews or watch how-to videos. Then just drag-and-drop the plugin onto your footage to apply it.
AI Voiceovers
Motion Array is another platform that added AI voiceovers to its feature set. Nowadays, you can find text-to-speech on Artlist, Envato Elements, and Epidemic Sound as well. And they all work well with only minor differences in UX and the number of settings.
Using voiceover consumes credits at a rate of approximately 1 credit for 1 character (60 seconds = ~830 credits). You get 400 credits by creating a free account or 75,000 credits with the Everything plan. The AI Voiceover plan includes up to 200,000 credits, which generates about 4 hours of speech.

Here’s how it works. You select a voice from the Voice Catalog and enter the script into the text field. You tweak the voice using four accents (American, Australian, British, and Indian), change the speed between 0.8x and 1.2x, and use various emotions, such as angry, sad, or surprised.
When ready, click Generate to create the voiceover, which takes up to two minutes for a few sentences of speech. Below is an example of the speech I generated using Voiceovers AI.
Once completed, you can find your new speech file under the My Voiceovers tab, where all your generations are saved. The audio tracks are available in the MP3 format.

Final thoughts: Motion Array is a versatile and budget-friendly toolkit for video creators
Motion Array is an outstanding platform for many users, from professional video editors to freelancers and content creators. Its large library offers unlimited downloads of over 2 million assets, strong Adobe Creative Cloud integration, and a set of 50+ video editing plugins. The addition of AI voiceovers to its affordable ‘Everything’ plan makes it even more practical, providing all the tools needed for modern creative workflows.
While Motion Array offers many high-quality video-focused assets, those looking for the largest collection of stock images or footage might find its library smaller than some industry giants. But this is a minor flaw given the utility and video-focused depth it provides. For users who need various video templates, motion graphics, music, and powerful editing tools without high costs, Motion Array is both intuitive and powerful.
Overall, Motion Array delivers excellent value with quality assets that help video creators and multimedia producers bring their ideas to life efficiently.
