Beginner looking for a good all-in-one PHP/MySQL package

I hate EasyPHP. There is nothing easy about that package. First, I didn't find the
"Management" item listed in the help file. Therefore, I couldn't access PHPMyAdmin. I
went on-line and found out in the FAQ that I needed to download a new executable for
EasyPHP because the developers had "forgotten" to include a major element in the
zipped distribution of their package. Hmmm. Anyway, I set the thing up and... It runs! I
thought at first that my problems were over. Until I tried to access my local web page
using the "Local Web" item. Grrrrr. "Page cannot be displayed." After fiddling with my
browser settings for a while, I go back to the EasyPHP site. This time, I visit the forums.
One message out of three is about a user's inability to access his or her local web page.
And, looking farther back at older messages, the same questions and complaints go on
and on through the forums. A satisfactory solution is never provided to those questions.
It's not just me then. That package is crap.

Or so said one of my teacher and former students who came by to visit us. They tried for
over forty minutes to get the thing to work on my laptop. Finally, we decided to simply
scrap it. But when I tried to uninstall that shite, it wouldn't let me! The servers weren't
running. I should have been able to remove the package. Instead, an error window told
me that there was a file missing. What, another one?

Anyway, in the end, I re-installed the package over the previous install. Then I
uninstalled it again. By some miracle, it worked.

So, my question is (finally :) ), could anyone point me to the site of an up-to-date
Windows package (MySQL, Apache + PHP, PHPMyAdmin). Why a package? I don't
have time to fiddle with strange unix-like commands to configure each servers and
modules separately. I just want an easy start, beginner level solution so that I can start
learning and experimenting with dynamic websites.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can light my lantern.
