I FINALLY fixed my photo album!!!! I have testing uploading many files now, and it seems to be working smoothly. So the captions will be incomplete, at best, but it's a hellofalot better than it was just 2 hours ago. The fix was really very simple, and I just kindof stumbled upon it in the FAQ.
I just had to add these two, simple lines to my .htaccess file:
AddType cgi-php php
Action cgi-php /cgi-bin/php/php.cgi
I wonder why I didn't need them in the default install. But I am soooo glad that I got this working finally!
