opensource?

I wrote this website for advice columnists in php and I've put a ton of work into the code. I'm considering putting all of it on sourceforge as an open source project. as a linux user, advocate of open source, wanna-be legit coder, I've been thinking about doing this a long time, but I've always hesitated because i'm afraid nobody will care about my website. there's nothing new or novel about the programs, they're just "read database, write database, repeat".

has anyone ever started an open source project? if you were me, would you open source your stuff? there's nothing new or novel about the programming, it just reads from a database, writes to a database, repeat. but I'd be happy to let people take the code and install it on their own websites for their own Q&A forums.
