My great big php project
So, like LAST YEAR, I talked about this big "killer web app" that I was working on, being my second project in php. Well today I took Jolt Finder out of
beta.
It consists of a dozen or so seperate php scripts, to make one big web-application. The idea behind Jolt Finder is to have a database that is built by a big community of users. Its kind of an experiment to see if such a thing can work (I hope so).
I learned a lot about php and MySQL doing this project, and it was a lot of fun.
Please check it out, and please tell your friends.
Because the database is empty (since I reset it just about an hour or so ago), if you want to use the search, there are entries located in Stockton, CA, and Casper, WY.
I've also created a livejournal community,
joltfinder to act as a forum for the community of Jolt Finders (hoping that there will be one!).
This is the first livejournal community I've promoted this in, so I apologize if you see a similar promo in another community.
