Hosting
Hello everyone... I'm looking for a decent, competent, web host... I currently use webmasters.com and dreamhost.com; however, I am not at all impressed with either of them.
Webmasters.com, while they are very nice and responsive [usually], their interface is not streamlined and applying an SSL certificate, which takes only a few minutes with Dreamhost, takes a huge amount of hassle and messaging back and forth with webmasters.com... one must acquire this esoteric knowledge from some Guru in order to manipulate anything with the account, SSL or otherwise. Also, they make a claim of an up-time guarantee, but they don't live up to it and the service is slow and shotty.
Dreamhost has everything I could imagine except they lack a corporate structure that can be respected... I don't like the clever banter they use to communicate to their customers... if I could take the staff from webmasters.com and put them into Dreamhost.com then I think I'd be set.
