a wordpress plugin that is nearly perfect... but not quite
Hi, i am a writer of typical lj smut XD and I also play around with websites quite a lot. I totally love the wordpress framework, and the way you add plugins for what you want. But-- I just cannot learn the language anymore, too old maybe! *so embarrasing...*
Right now I am trying to put together a site to host a big sprawling multi-novel project, and the navigation is giving me hell. I am using darren's organise series plugin, which is great as far as it goes; it provides a TOC within each post, and a page with the posts listed in series order; but it has limitations. The list of series itself in the sidebar widget is ordered alphabetically, and cannot be placed into a heirarchy. We want to use the series function to link short episodes together (which it does) into chapters, which link into books.(which would be a series of series, in effect, and is missing)
I've been farting around trying to cobble the functions from wp-categories.php into wp-series.php with no luck...
Would anyone have the time to mentor me? We will be doing a great favor to so many hobby fiction writers!
I know i haven't given much information here. If you tell me what I should include of course i will gladly do that...
