digitally signing pdf's

hi. i need to dynamically generate digitally signed pdf's. does anyone have any experience with versy pdf or setasign?

or any other suggestions on how to approach this. free (in every sense) would be preferable. aside from the cost, it looks like versy and setasign both obfuscate their code with that stupid ioncube thing.
