In the printing industry, pied type is type that, intentionally or otherwise, has become jumbled. It seemed the perfect name for a blog created by a retired editor addressing a jumble of topics.

I worked in printing and publishing for thirty years, mostly in Oklahoma City where I grew up; a variety of positions — writing, editing, and production — culminating in 15 years as managing editor of a medical journal.
After retiring, I was finally able to move to Colorado and settled in Thornton, 20 miles north of downtown Denver. I’m a registered Unaffiliated (UNA) voter, grandmother of two, introvert, secular humanist, gamer, and servant to feline Rowdy and canine Charlie.
I apologize for any disordered posts you encounter here. There are more than 4,300 posts dating back to 2002, and changes by WordPress, linked sources, or myself have broken many older posts.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you’re inclined to leave. (If you prefer, you can always use the contact form to reach me privately.)
Cheers,

Old editors never die, we just revert to type
