Let's have a piggie party!
Gnocchi is the mascot of a multimedia internet project that includes artwork, VTubing, and writing, among other things.
Gnocchi is a 10 week old red Abyssinian guinea pig, given a human(-ish) form with the power of love from her mama! She loves fashion, veggies, and parties. (well, the attention she gets from them, really...) People who want to join in on Gnocchi's parties are called party piggies, a.k.a. PARIPI! Gnocchi loves her mama, and does everything with them. She's heavily influenced by their old-school nerdy interests, and she wants to spread the love to others!
She loves her precious phone, an out of service Nokia 7390 she's nicknamed her "Gnocchia." She also has a habit of stashing some extra snacks in a bell pepper-shaped pouch she likes to call her "Belt Pepper."
piggie.party was the second domain I ever bought. The first, angelic.moe, was a frivolous purchase because I wanted something cute. I bought it while I was in between projects, and I never managed to bring it to life. I've always had a lot of inspiration with biblical imagery, especially angels, and I'm a huge weeb. Since angelic.moe never blossomed into what it could've, I really consider piggie.party to be my first foray into having a professional-ish homepage I can host all my projects and links on. I grew up seeing a lot of the sites of the early 2000s, patiently waiting for the day I could join them. The culture passed, but my desire never went away.
Choosing piggie.party as the name of my website was an absolute no-brainer. As an original character, Gnocchi already had been developed for a long time, and she always had the tagline of being a "party piggie" which can be seen on my Twitter. Since Gnocchi is a character meant to be explored as a VTuber persona, she also has a name for her fanbase: paripi! This word is a reference to the Japanese slang term パリピ, which stands for "party people" and it was really easy to simply turn it into "party piggie" instead, to reference guinea pigs. I didn't even know the .party domain extension existed when I made all this! It was fate, really.
Currently, piggie.party is hosted on Porkbun. I used to browse domain host sites a lot as a teenager. I have a couple other domains I still want to purchase, that are both references to anime I like. One of them is a .com url, which makes me really excited! In the future, I want to host my own fanlistings, create a ton more shrines, and pay homage to the web culture that raised me. piggie.party is just the first step of that adventure. I want piggie.party to be a resource for everything Gnocchi, and that includes everything Gnocchi loves!
