So, I finally shift my butt into gear and get another of my disproportionate floor plans done... For a department we don't even have PCs in anymore. I think we can all agree I deserve a pat on the back for that one.

That said, Forensics guys! The way I'm thinking of doing your plan, it will be virtually identical. I just need to edit a morgue in. Which I'll do when I've eaten, so if you have anything to say you've got about an hour or so. And if you do want it done differently, I'm more than happy to sort that even after I've uploaded the original. Forensics uploaded! If you want any changes, let me know. Pretty much based the design on when I worked at a vets and access was super important. So I may have added a few too many doors. But never mind.

The office is smaller in these ones, but that's because the bull pen has to accommodate far more people than the techies/forensics office does. In fact, I'm also thinking we should probably have another floor for Intel/Assault/Misc guys. Because even with only 70-ish staff, that's still way more than a single floor can accommodate. OR MAYBE IT ISN'T. I really don't know. I've never worked in an office before, so I could be wrong there. This would probably only be for the NPC staff though, to make interaction for PC staff easier.

Also, Veda. I don't think anyone's said anything to contradict it, so would you like me to edit in a new office for Justin somewhere? Or would you just want to stick him in the corner of the bull pens, or something?

Tech plans under the cut... )

EDIT:

Forensics plans under the cut... )

LOOK, LEAH. THERE ARE EVEN STAIRS IN THIS ONE.

The gallery I have for floor plans can be found here.

Guide to the City Police )

Hello everyone! Above, under the cut up there you'll find a guide I've thrown together and that I'm hoping you'll all be kind enough to look through and yay or nay. If nay, I would appreciate input on what changes you'd like to see. Otherwise, if you have more ideas of what to shove up in here please let me know; if you want to type up a section and leave it in a comment here I can pop it in. Otherwise, I can take your ideas and run with them.

I'm hoping to get information on the police in one coherent bulk place so that maybe we can start recruiting or at least letting other players know what is here to make use of. I'll be going through and removing posts that this makes redundant, unless anyone has any objections.

In addition, if there are positions you can think of that we could advertise to try and fill, it might work a little better than throwing out a generic net and asking for folk to flounder in!

Hi guys. I am really ridiculously untalented at being on hiatus. I'm not sure how you do it. I'm trying though, I am.

That said, I said I'd post this up and here I go.

The police force numbers...the police who are on the force (19? Maybe?) and 100 NPCs. Have you seen the picture of the Precinct? It's bloody MASSIVE. (Note: This means that the Precinct is essentially a GHOST TOWN.)

So Beckett-mun very nicely had a thingy recently where the police got to know each other and then there were comments in the following post about how we should know where the members of the PF stand with each other and, well, I find it helps to know where people are situated in comparison to each other. So! Do you know?

Basically, have you set anything up in logs, or do you have a sort of headspace as to where your character works? At a casual near-count, looks like there's 25 floors. That is a lot of floors. Or have you said anything in a log ever? Just post the information in here and...maybe it will be helpful. Or maybe someone a lot more visual-spatially talented than me might set up a basic sort of...outline of how the PF works and where the stuff is in it. I'll go first by actually posting into the entry for...clarity. Anything you can put down that you think might be useful would be very appreciated.

So, I just decided that also if there is something other than location that you've established, that's also good. Like, um....every police officer being issued a standard pen or something. Like...if you'd written that somewhere. That's just an example, I don't know. But put down stuff like that also.

Wanted/Watchlist How To:
Use the first thread below to update the list (anyone is welcome to add to it) using the form below. Please make sure you put the wanted character's name and username in the comment header to make it easy to spot who's listed at a distance.

Casefiles How To:
Plotted case files
will have their own thread. Players will comment to this thread to update details on a case being played out that has been discussed OOCly and agreed upon that the force is allowed to interfere/affect the crime/plot.

NPC'd case files
have a thread, where any police officer may update information as they see fit on each case.
Please make sure that all details that might affect PCs are run by the Poly mods!
They can be as minor as a bike thief and as major as a fake serial killer. If the plot directly involves another PC not involved with the force, it is NOT NPC'd, it is PLOTTED. This is strictly entirely NPC cases to keep your character from being without anything to do on the force! You are responsible for the details of any case you NPC along with NPC officers, etc. If another PF PC is helping with the case, it remains PC and the outcome/details are up to the PF characters.

Cold cases
(adapted from the previous post by absinthe_eyed) will have their own thread.

Casefiles are no longer being handled here. More information here.

[Post is OOC, threads are all IC.]

If you aren't sure what to do with the character, reply here and we'll try to help place them. Details about their skills and motivations will go a long way to making it easier to get them up and running within the force. Once that happens, move on to the next steps below.

If you know where you'd like your character placed, join the community, head over to the roster and introduce yourself and your new police force member! Give us a rundown on their qualifications, maybe a quick personality and what kinds of things you're looking to have them do within the PF. Then we'll either make plans for an IC 'interview' or handwave it if you'd rather not. Regardless, some way for them to enter the force is required before you are allowed to add your character to the roster. Be specific about what you'd like to get out of this so that we can try to work with you or let you know if something doesn't work in the way you thought.

After all that is said and done, head on over to the roster and follow the steps there. Congrats on joining the Poly Police Force!

The Police Force offers two different levels of jobs. The first is within the actual Police Force, and the second is as a Consultant.

To be in the Police Force, for either placement, one need only to get a hold of the Head of the Police Force, or any of the Division Heads. Your character will be called in for an interview (more than welcome to have it assumed, or it can be plotted out if you would like). If you are going for the actual Police Force, I ask that you look at the Divisions, and let me know which Division you would like your character to be in. For a Consultant, I need to know what skills your character has to have them listed on the Tally.

If you are asking what exactly a Consultant is, it means if someone has a skill or a trait that might be beneficial to the Police Force but the character in question might not have Police Force Training or want to be a Police Officer. It can be a full time basis, or a part time (aka case by case) basis. That is for you to decide. If they are full time, I just ask that they have a broad trait or a trait that can be used a lot. Part time would be like they can tell who last wore glasses or something like that which would be called upon case by case. If your character has something broader and doesn't want to be full time, that is also fine. They will be listed on the Police Force page and it will give the Police Force someone to call upon if they come across a case that the Consultant might be trained in or have knowledge about.

Question, suggestion, comment, plot?

Is there something you would like to see, some question you want answered? Feel free to address it here. You are more than welcome to post if you are looking for the Police for any reason; whether to address something IC, or for an OOC reason.
