Jul. 24th, 2017 13:06One of my regular, favourite web comics ended today. If you are not familiar with it, I suggest checking it out. It's not that long and has a pretty good story.

Jul. 7th, 2017 10:18It will never cease to amaze me that 80kmph is still too slow for some people in a 60kmph zone and insist on passing me at 90kmph+. I mean really? Do these drivers not realize we're almost certainly going to end up stopping at the same intersection 2 km from here? Do they not realize the fine for going over 30kmph in a 60 zone is WAY MORE than going 10 or 20 over? Not to mention it's harder to stop, if the need arises.

I don't intend to start using Spotify, but I wanted to keep the list for future reference.

Animation checklist
Jan. 29th, 2016 09:30Found this quiz on FaceBook and my score is extremely low for someone who considers herself an anime fan. I only got 25/90. If it were any lower I'd be too embarrassed to mention my score. Instead, I will leave this here and treat it like a check list. On the plus side, I have all this new animation to check out - WOOT!

Questionable Content

Today's strip, even though it is written and drawn by a guest artists and not the usual Jeph Jacques, is absolutely lovely. Just awesome. I'm sure there's a lot of people out there who feel they have a right to tell Jeph HOW to write his own comic strip. Part of me loves it when the answers/ comebacks are as snarky as this one. I hope the person who made that strip comment to Jeph understands that he can write his comic in any way he damn well pleases. Ha!

Spreading my love for CKCU
Oct. 27th, 2014 09:50If you like community radio, PLEASE consider giving a donation to CKCU - Carlton's university radio station:
https://www.ckcufm.com/secure/pledge/
I admit a bit of bias on my part, I have friends who have or are currently hosting shows but also, Sunday morning has one of the BEST line-ups in radio programming I have ever heard: Aboriginal CKCU, An Indian Morning, Music from the Glenn and This Island Earth (and my friends aren't even hosting these shows!). Any amount will be accepted, tax receipts for donations $25 and above and of course there are perks if you give larger amounts.
Program schedule:

My fave show:
The Dollar Bin: http://cod.ckcufm.com/programs/371/info.html

Friends, I am considering starting to ride my bicycle to work a couple times a week but I would like advice before I begin. Anyone with advice or words of encouragement are welcome to comment.
Thanks in advance for your help!
FWIW: I think what I have is a hybrid mountain bike, so the frame is a bit on the heavy side. I have a helmet and a bell (although my helmet is over 10 years old now, so I think I will get a new one).
There is a long stretch of bike path available to me (but I don't actually know if it's best to use it or not). I am thinking of keeping an extra set of clothes at work for the extra sweaty days. I think the trip is approx. 14km one way. add another 3km if I am dropping the kid off at daycare.
