Women

Times have changed & so have we... in some ways at least. Gone are the days when we let ourselves be trampled upon by men... living lives that  they set for us...taking care of them & their extended families...taking their name as our own... Gone are the days where our personal happiness was of no consequence... we were known by the men we had in our lives...we did not think we even had the right to make choices... we were mere possessions... their women.
But have things really changed..... I wonder..

Difficult Questions

Ansh is growing & growing fast one me judging by the difficult questions he poses these days:

> If God sent one boy & one girl only (he's probably referring to Adam & Eve) then we all are actually brothers & sisters. Then how can marriages happen?

>Also, then how come we are of so many different colors (ref to Caucasians, Asian etc)

> How children get born by eating apples?

I gave him a long lecture then on evolution & how our forefathers were monkeys.I am sure the poor baby is completely confused now!!!

Dear Blog

Sorry for having ignored you for so long.....got a new friend called facebook & then came farmville . Life comes a full circle. So I guess I should get back home to you

Ansh: जब आप घर आओगे तो मुझे देख नहीं पाओगे

Mumma: क्यों?

Ansh- क्युंकि मैं bathroom में रहूँगा.तभी मैं ठीक रहूँगा

Mumma: क्यों?

Ansh-जब मैं bathroom के बहार रहता हूँ तोह सब मुझे डांटते रहते हैं .

The old days

The other day, Khuhsi went to sleep unusually early.

Before Khushi was born, the three of us, used to sleep in our bed . Ansh used to always be in the middle hugging either one of us as he slept. Now we have had to do several temporary arrangements in our bedroom after the arrival of Khushi. So we have a temporary bedding on the floor where Abhi sleep. Ansh & myself sleep on our bed & Khushi sleeps in her cot. In the very early morning, Khushi is shifted to our bed for his first feed of the day & then she stays on in the bed. Ansh is put to bed early coz of his school in the morning. Khushi takes her own sweet time in sleeping.

Now, as I said, the other day Khushi slept early & so both myself & Abhi were in the bed with Ansh, putting him to sleep. Suddenly my son said, "How nice it is, just like old days". I took a few moments to absorb his words & then I could feel tears sting my eyes.

My son , not for once, showed us that he misses those days.....days when we were just a family of three. He insists that he loves Khushi more than us coz he asked God for a baby sister. He says he'll never scold her even if she breaks his toys when she grows up....but somewhere, deep down, he misses the old times. You are one brave boy my love. So grown up & matured. You know what to say to not hurt others.

I love u so much.

Dancing Jodi No .1

I had always been interested in extra-curriculars in school....dance, drama, music, debates. I used to participate in all of these & in most annual functions, I used to be performing in 2-3 programs. After school, the passion remained but the opportunities withered away.
A few years back, I performed at a friend's sangeet. My first formal solo dance performance. Then last year, our friends persuaded us to dance as a couple . We performed in two different events & got lots of appreciation.
Last week, at a cousin's marriage, we continued our spree & this time the appreciation was overwhelming.
Image
The best part about all this is that we really enjoy our limited practice sessions and enjoy every bit of what we do . The feeling of having an unknown someone come & hug you & tell you how great u performed is so worth the effort put in.
Here's to us- Dancing Jodi No .1 :)

Sibling Love

Image

I really feel sad when I have to admonish my almost 6 year old for being too rough in his love for his baby sister. Coz , that's the only way he knows how to express his love.
Grow up baby....fast..........so that your bro can play with you the way he wants to.
