As we’ve previously announced, we will continue to focus our product investments on next-generation solutions such as Tax Fixed Assets (TFA) and will be discontinuing PowerTax over the coming years.

Key Dates for PowerTax Customers

PowerTax Standard Support: Provided until December 31, 2025
PowerTax Sustaining Support: Available in 2026 – 2027
PowerTax End of Life: December 31, 2027

PowerTax Support Timeline FAQ

The PowerTax end-of-life milestone will be reached Dec. 31, 2027.

We are committed to your success and will work with your organization through the migration from PowerTax to Tax Fixed Assets (TFA). As we approach PowerTax end of life, support will be available in two phases:

Now – Dec. 31, 2025: Standard Support Continues
Jan. 1, 2026 – Dec. 31, 2027: Sustaining Support Available

To aid customers who have not yet transitioned to TFA, PowerPlan will offer a Sustaining Support subscription package from Jan. 1, 2026, until Dec. 31, 2027.

The Sustaining Support packages are customized for each customer and designed to be an affordable option for those who are not yet ready to migrate. As we partner to develop your long-term tax technology strategy, we can discuss how Sustaining Support may fit into your timeline.

Included:

Email and telephone support
Best efforts to provide a workaround when issues arise
Options to apply custom fixes for an additional fee
Product patches and releases
Security updates
Changes to accommodate compatibility with other technology such as Windows or Oracle

Not Included:

Product enhancements

Please note that Sustaining Support will only be available in 2026 and 2027, after which PowerTax will reach end of life and support will no longer be available.

PowerPlan has designed the migration to TFA to be as simple as possible. Many customers have completed the migration in as little as 6-12 weeks.
