PERSONALITY:
Molly is young and naive but don't let that fool you. She's very intelligent and sometimes she is the one who comes up with the best ideas for how to go on. Even after what she's gone through, she is wildly, and oddly, optimistic, sometimes to a fault; she wants to be a superhero and save the world and generally do good, but she doesn't understand why other people do not. It helps that Molly doesn't understand a lot of the bad things in the world, she gets that there are bad guys and she has a general distrust for adults but ideas like racism and homophobia go right over her head. Molly tries to see the good in everyone despite the fact most people look down on her because she's young, or a mutant, or a runaway. Her friends are what are most important to her and she clings to the idea of family. Her parents being evil was really hard for her and fighting them was even harder but she became closer with the other runaways and formed a psedo-family. The argue a lot but what family made up of children wouldn't?
Sometimes her age is an issue and from time to time she doesn't get the severity of the situation. Other times it makes her rather humorous without her intending to be, she'll say completely the wrong thing at the wrong time and not get why it's funny. She's very social and has no problem talking to others. Molly is both eager to please and self centered. Why are bad things happening to her, even if the same things are happening to everyone else. When she doesn't understand something she'll ask questions to find out but gets upset when others tell her that she's too young to understand. Though she is gullible and would believe most things you tell her, even if it's outrageous. Her age is a big nuisance for her, because she's the youngest she's often left behind if something is deemed too dangerous which frustrates her, especially since physically she's the strongest.
But don't let her demeanor fool you. She's not always all rainbows and sunshine. The situation does get to her and does bother her. Her friends will fight and disagree on where to go next and sometimes that's deeply upsetting and her young age shows. After all that she's been though, it's easy to forget that she's only thirteen. While she sees the world through positivity goggles most of the time, desperation is not an unfamiliar feeling. She is often lost, hungry, or in a hopeless situation but she tries hard to fight through it. Others may sit around and angst (and sometimes Molly does as well) but she is amazing at snapping out of that mindset and looking at the positive. She'll pout and cry and yell and break things, either out of desperation or in order to get the others going. Occasionally that's what the group needs to get themselves motivated again. Molly is vital in keeping them together.
If Molly doesn't like you, she'll let you know, often in an immature fashion. For example she'll stick her tongue out or la la la she's not listening, I'm sorry did you hear something? It may be a bit immature for a thirteen year old, but that's Molly. Although she's social, she didn't have a lot of friends at school as most people thought that she was weird. Once Molly likes you, you're stuck with her. Once you're Molly's friend, she'll do what she can to protect you. She's nothing if not loyal.
POWERS/ABILITIES:
Molly is a mutant with super strength and invulnerability. When she uses her super strength her eyes glow pink, the same color her parents eyes used to glow when they used their powers. She can stop one of those huge tanker trucks with a hand and can throw Wolverine around with ease. It's said that she can lift up to 100 tons but the limits on her strength are unknown. She was ranked the 4th toughest Marvel female, impressive for her young age and small stature. While using her powers, meaning while her eyes are glowing, she is also invulnerable, but the limits on that are unknown as well. Canonically she finds out about her invulnerability when someone tries to hit her with a shovel, It breaks and she remains unharmed. After using her power, or if she uses it too much in a small period of time, she often falls asleep on the spot which can sometimes be detrimental.
AU HISTORY:
Molly Hayes is the daughter of two doctors who practice in Los Angeles, California. Being twelve not much has happened in her life. School is dumb and boring, she doesn't care about learning and the other students in her class aren't friendly. While Molly is outgoing and friendly her classmates never really got along with her.
At least, that's how Molly would appear to an outsider.
The truth is Molly's parents are part of a known crime syndicate called The Pride. The Pride have their fingers in everything from robbery to murder to controlling the police force. The Pride get together once a year to offer a sacrifice to the gods they believe will end and restart the world. Except this time the Pride children witnessed the sacrifice. At first they were scared but then determined to stop their parents. It's while the other kids are rescuing Molly from her parents (in preparation of running away) than her mutant powers emerge. She's not happy to see everyone fighting and then, suddenly, she had super strength. And then she fell asleep.
The children go into hiding while they try and figure out what to do with their parents. Eventually, when their parents go to seek counsel with those they believe will secure their place in the new world, the runaway children attack. Maybe it's a miracle but they manage to defeat the Pride, essentially meaning they managed to kill their parents.
It seemed all fine and dandy for a bit, but the government couldn't have children running around fighting crime, even if they did manage to take out The Pride. Strings were pulled when someone found out that Molly was a mutant, and she ended up at Xavier's instead of foster care. But believe me, it's the last place she wants to be.

THIRD PERSON SAMPLE:
Her room at Xavier’s was nicer than any place she had ever lived but that didn’t stop her from wanting to leave. All of her friends were back home in California and she was stuck here in New York. Every day she thought about running away, just leaving and finding her way across the country. Molly knew that with her invulnerability would keep her safe from most things and as long as she doesn’t wear herself out too much using her super strength, everything would be okay. Then again it would take a long time to get all the way to the west coast.
Molly rolled out of her bed and landed with a thump on the floor. She hadn’t bothered to unpack her things yet, and she didn’t plan on it either. She felt like if she unpacked then she was giving up on seeing her friends ever again. Reaching under her bed pulled out her box of hats. Bunny. Cat, Dog. Frog. They were her favorite things, the things that made her special and stand out. Molly sits up and takes off her night cap, never one to go without a hat, even in her sleep, and puts on her frog hat. She enjoyed the familiar weight of the overlarge eyes and the feeling of the soft green fabric over her ears. Her hats once gave her comfort but now they’re only making her miss what she left behind.
They’d come for her, they always came for her, she just had to believe that and try and make the best of it for now (while secretly planning her own escape, of course). On the bright side, she had a bed and food and didn't have to hide anymore.

Look, Mr. Kidnappers, when you take people you're not supposed to give them phones because then they can call the police and I know that the police aren't as bad as they used to be because we fixed that already before, even if I still think adults are bad. And you're not supposed to let them walk around! Aren't you supposed to tie us down or put us in tubes or something? You're really bad at this, aren't you!
Also since you gave me a phone I can call my team and the Young Avengers and the Avengers and aliens to come and stop you so I think you should let me go because I can get out without them but I think they'd wanna know where I am. [her eyes glow a purple-pink color] I may be small but I bet I'm a bunch stronger than you are
[but then her mood quickly changes into something happier]
So I'm gonna call all the superheroes I know to come and get me because it's really bad when you're kidnapping little girls but until they get here I'm going to get some ice cream from the shop over there. [she grins at the screen] Bye Mr. Kidnappers. [she cuts the transmission]

[It's been a while since The Desert Avengers visited the Institute. Like every visit it was some big affair that Molly really didn't care about. It just meant that a lot more people were at the tower and all the students were swooning over how cool they were. (It's no secret that a few years ago Molly was one of those people swooning, but a few run away attempts later she didn't think they were so cool anymore, even if she wanted to join them.)]
[At the moment they were all in the dining hall eating some feast prepared by teachers and students alike, the institute had a lot of good cooks. Molly had taken her food directly from the kitchen, avoiding the people who would ruffle her hair and ask about how her latest escapade went in a condescending manner. But still, she enjoys the festivity of it all and sits outside the dining hall listening to everyone inside]
