The amendment would make the Senate’s three-fifths requirement to invoke cloture a permanent part of Senate procedure, preventing any future use of the “nuclear option” to eliminate it. It preserves all current exceptions to the filibuster, including requiring only a simple majority for presidential nominations and budget reconciliation. Crucially, it would take effect only upon ratification by three-fourths of the states.
As momentum builds for Congress to act on permitting reform, this bipartisan framework offers a commonsense, two-party roadmap to streamline the permitting process, boost energy production and lowering costs.
Problem Solvers Caucus Co-Chairs Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) and Tom Suozzi (NY-03) led 36 Members of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus in releasing an open letter calling for an end to political violence and the reckless rhetoric that fuels it. The letter stresses that Americans must be able to express their beliefs without fear and urges leaders and citizens alike to set a higher standard for political discourse.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Problem Solvers Caucus endorsed the following statement on the upcoming government funding deadline.
"Congress must perform its most basic duty to negotiate and pass all 12 Appropriations bills, so they may be signed into law by the January 30 deadline. We must do everything we can to avoid a government shutdown.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Problem Solvers Caucus announced its continued endorsement of the Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act (H.R.2048), bipartisan legislation to eliminate waiting periods for federal disability insurance benefits and Medicare coverage for individuals undergoing treatment for metastatic breast cancer.

With national debt exceeding $38 trillion and annual interest costs now surpassing defense spending, the current trajectory of federal spending is unsustainable.
