At approximately 5:23 this morning eastern standard time, I won my long time goal of beating Survival Battle (100 Wins in a row) in Courtyard Colosseum in PBR.

BUT LET ME JUST TELL YOU HOW IT WENT, BECAUSE I HAD TWO SLIGHTLY WEAKENED POKEMON FIGHTING FOUR FRESH POKEMON AND MY HEART WAS EXPLODING IN MY CHEST

My Pokemon: Slaking (fainted), Mewtwo (fainted), Darkrai (fainted), Lucario (fainted), Latios (doing OK), Articuno (doing OK)

Kruger's Pokemon: Lickilicky (perfect health), Typhlosion (perfect health) Regice (perfect health), Suicune (perfect health) *He also had something else and a Cresselia that wasn't used, which would have been a serious problem for me*

Lickilicky got Luster Purged and Dragon Pulsed, it only got Defense Curl off
Typhlosion was a repeat, only got Sunny Day off
Articuno was switched in to deal with Regice, got hit with Charge Beam once before Regice got Sheer Colded (which is always fun to watch, giant walking glacier being consumed by ice)
Suicune's Hydro Pump missed and it got Sheer Colded
I WIN ^_^

I now have the "Survival King/Queen" titles unlocked and the Pearl Wave and Diamond Dust (!!!) passes unlocked. Sorry I couldn't wait for you Eliot, I intended to save at Battle 95 but then I needed to heal badly, so it just became a "I'm just gonna heal, beat this next guy, and save".

People on PBR need to exchange passes more often dammit

Can I upload pokemon from Diamond/Pearl, restart a new game, and pull those pokemon onto the new one?
No. You can only return pokemon to the save file that the pokemon transferred from.

So I haven't updated this lj much, and I've been prodded to do so ;-)

makes sense, it's way too early to revisit Sinnoh with an Emerald/Battle Frontier-esque game (though plenty of pokemon could use some new attacks, I'm looking at you Abra, hurry up and learn Aura Sphere!)

-Brawl consumes much of my life, with the assistance of my able-bodied companion I have managed to unlock the full roster.
-I finished my Pokemon Diamond master file as far as story mode goes (meaning I explored every route, picked up every item, battled every random trainer).
-I did two POTDs for p_g_h and *almost* no one noticed (thanks Weaseldog!). I lose hope every time I update. Hopefully my Summer Pokemon Tournament will inspire people to post more. Especially since I'm offering a Japanese Movie Darkrai that recently came into my posession to the winner.
-I'm up for battles over the next few days if anyone wants to have one for fun (any Tier, any rule).
-I should probably write more, I'll be sure to post a new rant to pokerants soon.

damn, that's a fast Venusaur (although with 31 IV in SPD, SPD-boost nature, and 252 IVs, it might outspeed everything on the field if none of them had particularly high SPD stats...)

I miss fighting people on PBR SOOOO MUCH.

I'm home in like two weeks! Anyone up for some thanksgiving matches?

I was weirdly off earlier today, I lost two PBR fights against the same person.

Then later today, I had a total of 12 battles over DS and Wifi. Three of those fights the opposing trainer gave up when I was very obviously going to win (cowards), two were mostly Legendaries, and I won every other match.

All of them were great fights, and I wasn't even using EV trained pokemon.

It's gotten me back into battles, even when I lost I knew where I made all my mistakes and was really able to appreciate the other guy's pokes. It's really a matter of being prepared, knowledgable, getting creative, and relying on blind luck in the end. Totally awesome.

It's really quite fun, it hasn't been this fun since link cable fights in Study Hall. It's about fun, you're supposed to have fun. That's what it's all about, I forgot that.

Does ANYBODY on my f-list play this game and remembers what this game is supposed to be about? DS or PBR, name it, let's do it. Little Cup lv. 5, Double Lv. 50, full 6 on 6 lv. 100. Whatever.

I'm going to finish the guides I started, and continue writing more until someone tells me not to anymore (or I lose interest, the latter is unlikely).

Zoey on the new Diamond and Pearl anime is a huge lesbian for Dawn. By my count the first very obvious lesbian. Just in case you watch the show now and again.

Gastly is like, the best shiny ever. I wish I had one.



Ok if I was a 6-year old watching that, then at approx. 1:33 I would be shitting my pants.

wifipokeleague: you have to be a member of a gym to even challenge another gym...for a badge...you already have to be in a gym (most of them disorganized), to fight another one...I don't think that's how it works in the game, kids. Not to mention most of the other gyms are barely getting off the ground...

pokewifi: OMGICNABREDUACHARMANDERCANIHASADEOXYSLOLOLOL. Wow, it's like a giant online black market. Since now I have access to my GBA games...I don't need shit from nobody. With more stupid requests everyday!

I guess..I expected more. I thought things would get better. But D/P gen has been really disappointing to me personally, at least so far.

I want to fight people who appreciate using more than the same 20 pokemon over and over, with base stat totals of like, 1000.

I want to write guides for pkmn_game_help, but why bother when people will just keep asking questions we answered time and again? No one really comments on the ones I do make, so if they're used or appreciated it's not like I'll ever know about it. I updated the TM guide and I got people telling me about stuff I should do. Not thank you, not please can you, but "yo dude, d/p stuff soon". I've tried to make it more social, but all people seem to prefer is cold, hard, psuedo-pokewifi discussion. Not to mention I feel like I'm the only one who gives a shit about it. I mean it isn't all that important (it's just a LJ community), I just figured with a membership that big...I would like some updating, every once in a while. Shit happens though. It was so much fun way back when...

Ugh, so apathetic, I'm doing the same thing I did in previous gens. Breeding and raising pokemon to fight in the console versions of games. Not really connecting with anyone but Eliot, and he pretty much raises two types of pokemon only and talks about, but never explores, the possibility of others. At least I'm trying to raise a Venomoth that won't get blown away in the first turn. Because I like it, not because it's stats allow it to absorb Legendary attacks.

I guess some good news is that I got a Wii. I want to battle sometime in the next week because I haven't done it once yet, honestly. I want the first fight to be on PBR though. Haven't decided who with yet, but we'll see I guess.

Really lame Nintendo, I have to say, I'm really unsatsified. Your uninspired, lack of innovation really leaves me cold.

I can't believe they haven't updated the first 251 sprites. Their Wii sprites look IDENTICAL to their N64 counterparts. That is unacceptable.

Look at Mismagus in comparison to Mr. Mime.

Friggin ridiculous. Way to be incredibly lazy, Nintendo.

Still can't wait till this game arrives at my house though.

advice!
Tangrowth, the evolved form the Grass type I always wanted to use (but didn't because of it's stats).

Abilities (both of which force me to use it during a Sunny Day):

Leaf Guard: It would certainly help in tanking, With a Leftovers/Leech Seed Tangrowth could heal semi-reliably while being healed of all it's status problems. However there's the issue of speed...

Chlorophyll: Doubles it's horrible base 50 SPD. If Tangrowth had a better physical/special movepool, and had sweeper options, this would mean something.

Attacks:

Power Whip: 120 base power Grass physical. Ummm yes.

Rock Slide: Would need to be used with Chlorophyll in order to take advantage of the 30% flinch-hax. Main way of taking out Flying, Ice and Fire.

Earthquake: *yawn* Standard.

Poison Jab: Meh, semi-standard. One of few physical moves of any real interest.

Brick Break: Eff you Normal/Ice/Steel.

Tickle: Lowers opponent's ATK and DEF...decent substitute for Swords Dance

Swords Dance: Umm yeah. Duh.

Ingrain: Non-Leech Seed healing, maybe with a Big Root this could prove interesting? Forces Tangrowth to stay in the fight though, not sure if I like that.

Sleep Powder: I guess? 75% SLP?

Ancientpower: Not just for evolution!

Toxic: plays well with others (attacks, that is)

Sunny Day: required to activate combos, or save that moveslot for some other support move? Let a Fire-type use Sunny Day?

Solarbeam: If the sun's out, may as well...

Shock Wave: Special attacks are few.

Sludge Bomb: see above

Aerial Ace: well, err...

Substitute: Stretching that sizable health bar...

Egg Moves:

Flail: if we get the SPD boost from Chlorophyll then this might be viable, as an Endurflailer

Amnesia: helps that horrible SPEC DEF

Leech Seed: Always useful for Grass types.

Leaf Storm: I've never thought this useful but eh.
