Job Description:

Position Summary

The Fundraising and Business Development Director leads Project Unity’s fundraising strategy, donor relations, and revenue growth initiatives. This full-time leadership role is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive fundraising programs — major gifts, multi-year giving, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, annual campaigns, and special fundraising and networking events — to advance Project Unity’s mission and facilitate financial sustainability. Eloquent storytelling of Project Unity’s vision and community impact is crucial. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker possessing a charismatic interpersonal style and a passion to make a meaningful contribution to building
bridges that unify our communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a year-round fundraising plan to meet annual revenue targets.
  • Identify and cultivate major donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners.
  • Lead planning and execution of fundraising events, campaigns, and donor stewardship activities.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and senior leaders to establish fundraising goals.
  • Oversee grant writing, proposal development to secure for funding and reporting compliance.
  • Prepare and deliver donor communications, impact reports, and marketing materials to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Manage donor database systems to ensure accurate record-keeping and relationship management.
  • Collaborate with support resources to identify and ensure appropriate tracking, analysis, and reporting of fundraising performances and trends.
  • Supervise and mentor development staff and volunteers.
  • Represent Project Unity through public speaking, networking, and advocacy in the community.

Qualifications

  • Deep commitment to Project Unity’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relationship management, and event management.
  • Demonstrated success driving major gifts, corporate/foundation giving, grant writing, and supporter appeals.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for donor relations, marketing, and public speaking.
  • Experience with donor management software.
  • Creative, strategic thinker able to independently lead fundraising initiatives and inspire engagement by others.
  • Collaborative team player with strong leadership and people skills and exemplary networking abilities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in nonprofit fundraising management, nonprofit management, business administration, sales, communications, or related field.

Program Coordinator

Job Description:

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator will work directly with the Director of Programs and Events and assist with the planning and implementation of the “Together We” programs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in the meeting and events industry. Candidate should have experience and working familiarity with managing programs, meetings and events from start to finish. Key areas of focus include registration and data collection platforms such as Eventbrite, Survey Monkey; virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom; document and presentation development
using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience working with stakeholders, partners and clients is a plus. Candidate should be extremely detail oriented, customer service oriented, a true self-starter, a critical thinker, comfortable with multi-tasking and be a strong communicator – both written and verbal. This role requires someone who has a strong interest in efforts around community building, inclusion and belonging, race relations, relations with law enforcement and social justice matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with coordinating the “Together We” programs and events
  • Work on-site at events including set up, breakdown, and managing presentations
  • Assist with managing virtual events via Zoom including features such as breakout rooms, chats, white board, recording, etc.
  • Communicate with partners, sponsors and volunteers on various programs
  • Assist with coordinating volunteers for programs and events
  • Maintain event calendar and program schedule
  • Assist with managing registration lists and updating participant database
  • Support program data management: collect surveys, compile data, evaluate and report impact metrics; contribute data for grants and other funding requests
  • Prepare and maintain program records, reports, and documentation
  • Assist with program supply orders and track inventory, track distribution of program materials, apparel, and gifts
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on program promotions and post event highlights
  • Assist with budget tracking, expense reconciliations and other event financials
  • Assist with food/beverage details for programs and events
  • Other event related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience coordinating programs, events, or projects (nonprofit or community setting preferred)
  • Working knowledge of procedures and practices of event or meeting planning, program coordination and implementation
  • Demonstrate confidence with public speaking, presenting, and facilitating
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across diverse audiences
  • Effective problem solver; detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with standard office software such as MS Office Suite
  • Experience with registration and survey tools such as Eventbrite and Survey Monkey
  • Experience working with all levels of business and community leadership/management
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment
  • Manages time efficiently and prioritizes tasks to achieve results
  • Possesses sound judgement and a calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations
  • Exhibits professionalism and strong business acumen
  • Good driving record to assist with specific programs that involves vehicle use
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, lift 10-15 pounds, and endure a lot of walking onsite
  • Commitment to Project Unity’s mission of fostering community unity and meaningful dialogue

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), preferably in nonprofit management, event/hospitality, communications, or a related field
