Define 'documentary'.

Videogames labeled as corrupting the youth, yet again. Jack Thompson lends his.. *snort*.. credibility to the argument.

I'd post the rant here again that I made on GJ, but instead I'll just link it. The GJ post is set to allow anonymous comments. Feel free to take a look.

G33King teh fjuck out

With the release, years ago, of the Intel PIII and AMD Athlon/Duron processors, the overclocking features were generally locked out to the end user. I remember using my old comp back in 2000 to overclock it from something like a 500 or so to an 800mHz machine which, without any extra cooling procedures, was a momentous accomplishment. Well, now that I have the modern setup, I discovered that my Athlon XP 2600+ (1.9 gigahertz) was unable to be compromised at the cpu clockspeed. Why am I even interested? Well, I'm 100 megahertz shy of minimum requirements to run Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Oh sure, it installs and runs but with noticeable lag and an apparent glitch which wouldn't let me move on to the second mission due to loading times.

So, I browsed. Google may be becoming the next Microsoft with its monopolization, but it finds what I look for, given enough time. And then I found an article stating how one could go into the BIOS and change the front side bus speed (as well as the multiplier) to give the CPU a true boost. Well, although it is possible to overclock this machine to a 2.7 gigahertz processor (800 mHz jump woo!), it would need some serious cooling fans. So, I opted for the safe route. By upping the FSB from 166mHz to 186 mHz and leaving the multiplier alone, it boots with no stability problems (yet). By loading a system analysis program titled Everest, I discovered it recognizes my cpu as a 2800+ instead of a 2600+, running at 2.167 gigahertz.

Necessity is the mother of all invention (and overclocking!)

I've semi-returned.

Edit: AIM name has changed as well for those who want to add. Info is listed in my.. well.. info. I don't use anything but AIM now.

Having stuck with GJ as opposed to LJ.. yadda yadda yadda.

I don't post here. I don't really post much anywhere. WoW is what I do now.

Still alive. Never on. Life is life.

For Lolli's amusement (maybe), currently learning the tab for Drive You Home.

Stacy, I caught your email, to which I replied but haven't seen a response since. Hope things are ok.

I'll update again in another.. oh whenever.

ATTN: Anyone who sees this.

I'd forgot to mention here, as I had on GJ, that updates will be few and far between. My net was shut off at home.

Now you know.

Still no meaning

Installed, played, beat, and uninstalled Syberia, in roughly 11 and a half hours over the past few days. I can't say it's a game that will entice just anyone, and the ending was lame as hell, but it killed time, which, besides to stifle boredom, the reason I play games to begin with.

I'm still waiting on FarCry, of course. Azureus states another 6-7 hours, yet that's with a transfer ate of about 26k/s, and I damn well know that's the highest rate I've seen so far. Within minutes, I'll see it drop down to 1.5 or less. So really, my estimate is tomorrow night.. if I'm lucky. It had better be worth the three gig size. I know I won't be able to run it in all its splendor, as I surpass most, if not all requirements, save one. My video card is but a 64 meg GeForce II MX440, which is the base requirement to run the game. Ok, so it won't look like HL2. I can live with it. Somehow though, I'm still expecting disappointment.

As well, I received final notice on my internet bill. The 22nd is my last day to pay in full, else I get shut down. Seeing as how my money won't arrive until shortly thereafter, I've accepted the fact that my internet will go down for a few months as I resolve to pay back the money owed. So, my inbox will bloat and I'll miss out on some things, but it could be worse.

Anyway, still no '2005' post. Thus, I consider this to be just a filler post until I have something more meaningful to say.

I've yet to make a truly meaningful post here for 2005. Maybe sometime before the year's end I might just do that.

Instead, I link you to this.
