So.... it has been over a year since any new posts.  Here are a couple random pictures

Twins- One Month)

At one month old the girls are putting on some weight. :) Jenna weighs 6 lbs. 8 oz. and Tessa weighs 6 lbs. and 2 oz. They are both doing good and besides Tessa's ultrasound on her hips we don't need to go back until their 2 month appt.

Were Home

A little late, but here they are. Jenna came home on 4-4-2011 and Tessa came home a day later on 4-5-2011. Both girls are doing well and gaining weight. Jenna- 6 lbs 4 oz, Tessa- 5 lbs 14 oz. They are getting accustomed to being loved and held, crying when set down. Cam and Lys are very happy to have everyone home, mom and dad.... even happier!

Progress

Jenna~ I just made it into a big girl bed. Now all I need to do is eat all of my feedings with a bottle for 3 days in a row, while maintaining my temperature and body weight. (Not too much to ask of an 8 day old premie.)

Tessa~ I'm trying my hardest to keep up to my sister. I too made it into a big girl bed today. I get tired quick when eating, so I get more tube feedings than Jenna.

Now that the girls are in the open cribs we can pull them out for every feeding.

When they were in the isolettes we were only allowed to get them out twice a day.

They're Here!

These two little girls made their entrance into this world on Sunday, March 20th 2011. Baby A- aka, Jenna came at 11:38 pm. She weighed 5 lbs 3oz and was 18 1/2" long. She is doing great. Currently she is under the lights for jaundice, but otherwise breathing on her own. We haven't tried feeding her yet.

Baby B- aka, Tessa made her entrance at 11:40 pm. Weighing in at 4 lbs 13 oz, and measuring 19" long. She was having difficulty breathing on her own since her lungs weren't ready to breathe on their own. Initially she was put on a ventilator but then taken off a few hours later. She was then moved to the oxygen tubes that go in the nose. Definitely a fighter and not wanting to accept much help for long. She is progressing at an amazing pace in a fraction of the time expected by doctors and nurses. We are hoping to get to hold her today after they remove the lines put into her belly button.
These were the first pictures we have of them in the NICU. I will try to post more as we get them loaded onto the computer.

Hospital Fun

While at the hospital the kids both had a loose tooth. Alyssa got hers out and Cam was not going to be passed up, he ended up getting his out a few minutes later. Fortunately, the tooth fairy made it to the hospital.

While being on bed rest I have learned to crochet. Here is my first project, it is a little blanket for Alyssa's dolls. Now I am making a blue on for Cam's animals.
