National School Breakfast Week
The Breakfast Quest

The Palm Springs Unified School District serves nutritious meals to ALL District students at no cost, regardless of income, through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program.
While a meal application is not required to receive meals at no cost, some households may be requested to submit the Universal Benefits Application to ensure the maximum funding is available for each of our schools and classrooms. These families will be contacted later in the year.
Please be aware that the new federal law does NOT include any K-12 public school program, including the School Nutrition program, does NOT constitute any receipt of government that would affect immigration status.
Please click on the images below to view nutrition education on our Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) featured fruits and veggies.
Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of appealing foods that meet their health and nutrition needs.
The National School Lunch and National School Breakfast Programs are federally funded to assist schools in providing nutritious breakfasts and lunches to school children, and are open to all enrolled students. In addition, we provide suppers and snacks to students participating in the afterschool programs. The programs provide meals that contain 1/3 of the students's Recommended Dietary Allowance of nutrients.
