So I decided to document what is going on with Caleb. The above picture is actually about six months old and he has gained more weight since then. We recently took him in for a sleep study because he had developed some behavioral issues and seemed to always be tired. We got the results back on Wednesday of this week. He has extremely severe obstructive sleep apnea. The doctor said that he stopped breathing over 39 times an hour and that at one point he stopped breathing for 5 minutes. Talk about scarry. The three main causes for this in kids his age are: large tonsils and adnoids, a narrow upper jaw, and wieght. Caleb has all three problems. The first two are pretty easy fixes that I can control, he will be scheduled for surgery to remove his tonsils and adnoids some time in the next few weeks and we already have an appointment for an orthodontics consultation scheduled for the 22nd of this month. The last one, his wieght, is going to be the most difficult. I already am very cautious about cooking healthy meals and providing healthy snacks but I think I am going to have to be even more stringent.
As I formulate a plan and put it in place my plan is to post about it so that any of my friends and family that view this can help support us in trying to get Caleb's weight under control. Some of the things I am thinking about we have tried before and had marginal success, but hopefully with support we will beable to make a difference.
I don't want his sibblings to feel like they are being deprived but on the same token if we are going to make a difference our entire family is going to have to make some changes in the way we view food and excersize.
Well enough of my problems for today. I hope you all have a great day.

I didn't forget
I didn't forget to update my blog on Sunday I was out of town. So I thought I better post something now that I am home.
This weekend was spent in Emmett at my parents home enjoying family. My brother, his wife, and their kids came home for our youngest brother's high school graduation. We haven't seen Lynn and Erin since last summer. It has been great to spend this time with them. We are looking forword to spending the next couple of days with them as well.
Now that he is graduated, Matt is getting ready to submit his mission papers and go on a mission this fall. It doesn't seem possible that he is this old. It really makes me feel old.
On an other note, I have been trying to get organized and keep my house in more order by following The FlyLady. Not counting this weekend I have been doing this for 6 days now and my sink is still shiny! This is huge for me. I really can't remember the last time I have gone this long without dishes in my sink. I really am excited about this.

Where does the time go?!?!?
So I'm going to try and blog every Sunday afternoon, even if I don't have any new pictures. Just to try and give a recap of the week. School around here ends this coming Friday so we have the last couple of weeks have been spent going on school field trips. Joey's class went to Albertsons and then to the park, I was able to go with him and we had a great time. While we were there I saw a couple of my old friends from Emmett. It was good to have the chance to visit with them, but the most fun was hanging out with one of my little men. Jacob's class got to go see the play The Secret Garden and because of cost and bus seating only one parent got to go, unfortunately it wasn't me, but he had a great time and loved the play. They also went on a walking field trip to learn about Middleton. I was going to go but couldn't find anyone to watch my three little kiddoes I still have at home. Caleb's class is going over to the Roller Drome in Nampa this week and then they will have their 5th grade gradutation. I can't believe my baby will go to Middle School next year. I'm not so sure I am ready for a teenager!
We are getting ready to head over to Emmett and celebrate Matthew's Seminary graduation in a couple of hours. I can't believe he will be graduating from High School on Saturday! He can't be that old yet! But we are all looking forword to having Uncle Lynn and Aunt Erin come visit for the graduation. The boys are so excited to see their cousins and Sarah is looking forword to seeing Clara, she won't be the only girl!

My Older boys
Rag Curls
Saturday the kids went to Grandma and Grandpa Gurney's house and spent the night. When I went to pick them up Sunday afternoon Sarah had these really cute curls in the back of her hair and I asked my mom what she had done. She said they were rag curls but that she wouldn't sit still long enough to do her whole head. So last night I bribed her with Dora and she sat still long enough to do her whole head.
