For Reference-- Page where Phoneblogger files can be found. LJ Documentation on its Blogger API Support. So anyway, I'd like to preface this by saying that I know nearly nothing about Python whatsoever. I just find myself diving through Python scripts lately as a result of my latest project. It seems fascinating!... so perhaps later on I may choose to pick it up. There is a Python script called Phoneblogger that allows you to post from your phone to a supported blog. I've managed to get this to work on my Wordpress, by using the Moveable Type XMLRPC. There was much rejoicing. Now I was wondering if I could also use this with Livejournal. According to LJ docs, LJ can also use the Blogger XMLRPC. So I tried configuring Phoneblogger to use that, however the phonepost failed. Assuming that it failed because of the script and not because of something on Livejournal's end, I'm thinking that with a few minor modifications, this should be able to work. I just don't really know what to change. The relevant Python Script in the Phoneblogger package is called PostAudioToBlog.py. At the very least, could someone point me in the right direction as to what's going wrong so as to motivate me to learn the amount of Python necassary to fix this? Thanks for the help guys. BTW- If you try setting this up yourself as well out of curiosity, you should use lame 3.93.1, NOT the latest stable version. The latest version just doesn't function with the script properly. |
