The new year bring new possibility of awesomeness! But before I jump to far ahead our Christmas was good, the kids got tons of new trucks and cars. I got a smartphone and now a slave to the smartphone world and Jason bought a van cause our green car died so that is also part of my Christmas gift. We made out alright.
For the New Year we bought a good amount of fireworks and joining our neighboors around a campfire setting off fireworks. The kids had a blast enough thou it was cold outside.
The rabbits are doing good. Bebe had a liter of 8 and now 5 wks. Keeping 2 does for future breeding stock and Clover is due with her second liter on the 10th. The chickens are also good. Build at larger coop cause I bought 3 new Barred Rock chicks so now I have 9 chickens.
Hunter had his birthday the 23rd of December and is now 8 yrs old. He gets baptised in 2 weeks.
Wouldnt it be even cooler if i had photos to show you.... but I dont cause during these last months... I've been WAY to busy to even stop to take pics.

Egg hunt
October is finally here and that means....... my hens will start laying! I've started to notice that my one and only hen thats been laying hasent been using her nest box. Ugh so I've been doing some egg hunts. After finding 7 eggs in a nest she made behind a wooden panel, the other hens thought it would also be a great idea. Checking that same nest with no egg today I just so happen to check around .... I found a brown egg!!! My first brown egg!!!! WOOOHOO!!! Finally my hens are laying. Now mind you not all are laying just yet but we are off to a great start. So here's to a happy egg layers!

A major accomplishment
We have babies!!! 3 healthy pink babies rabbits! My californian doe kindled last night and even with my effort to be there to watch, she holded off just enough until I went to bed. But you know I cant be more excited. I have worked so hard for this liter cause the last 3 months of breeding has ended in missed pregnancies. A major accomplishment in this step of raising meat rabbits and now on to the next step, raising babies!

Update
Sorry for the silence but we have been busy for the last few weeks. Hunter is loving school and even tho they haven't been sending alot of homework home he has been working on his spelling tests. He's been getting 80 -90 percents on his test. Chandler has started school at EarlyBirdPreschool with Erin Banda. I absolutely love Erin for putting in the time and effort in helping and teaching Chandler. Huge thank you! Korbin is turning into a 2 year old mini monster. He can climb up on tables and wave his finger at me and say "no no no". Jason work is starting to pick up cause with the weather starting to cool down. Woohoo! We had some fun up at Mabb's ranch a few weeks ago. We finally took 1st place at Mabb's Olympics! The boys had a blast and Jason and I got to duel it out with his brothers at air soft wars. I came home with some wicked brusies. LOVE IT!

Update on the backyard farm. I got a few plants potted tomatoes, onions, peas, broccoli and lettuce. Rabbits are doing great, I got 2 does due THIS Sunday! *fingers crossed* I will update on them when I see babies. Chickens are busy eating my bugs. No eggs yet but hopefully next month they will start laying. I will have so much eggs I will be selling a dozen for $2.00. If you need fresh eggs, call or write! Goats are being goats, enough said!

Thats is for now, more to come in a few days and weeks!Posted by Jason and Crystal Mabb at 9:09 PM 0 comments

Mabb's Farm update
Since June we've been busy building our mini backyard farm. What we have finished so far is the rabbit hutch which houses 3 of our meat rabbits. The chickens are in there coop and just recently we finished building the goat pen. Enjoy the pics and our next project in a few weeks will be making the chicken run, planting grass and getting the garden boxes built.
