I finally know why we have such a weird and stupid name for our newspaper. Okay our college paper is called the gateway. So I'm going through my mass media book for the prep-quiz and I come across the term "gatekepers" which means those who control the information that goes out to people in mass media, ie reporters, editors, writers. Hence why our paper would be called the gateway. Dur. Eh, this is my first journalism class, what could anyone expect. Another amusing thing, my editor told me today to quote "I know this probably goes against everything you ever learned in Journalism" heeh yea ok sure, if ever took journalism maybe heheheh. I'm the bad journalist who doesn't have a declared major in journalism yet and has never written for a paper before or even taken a class on journalism, but I still managed to weasel my way onto the Senior writing staff. I'm a bad little girl. :) OK so i'm just bad in the eye of the other journalists who think I shoulda had to work harder to get where I'm at. But that's how it works I guess. Just love me please, I've got candy and I'll give you a nice shiney nickel!
