 nicely paced, tense movie. much better than i thought.

oh what a difference location makes. i'm not even unpacked all the way, and i haven't hung any decorations, but my new place already feels cozier and more like home than my last one ever did.

I'm not as worried about LJ-FB-Twitter douchebaggery after the recent announcement, but for the sake of caution I created a mirror account at Dreamwidth. I'm backing up everything at DW in the meantime. We'll see what happens in the future.

yesterday i was discussing with a friend the pluses of a particular neighborhood in oakland, with respect to the availability of fun activities and single women. i've been looking at apartment listings in that area off and on for a few months, even going so far as viewing a couple places. nothing really looked right.

cue today. i just saw the perfect apartment for me; space for an office but not too big. only 4 units, no shared walls. washer and dryer. garage. renovated recently. last tenant had been there 16 years. it's a 5 minute walk from where my lesbians-over-thirty meetup group likes to gather for happy hour.

oh hell yes i put in an application. cross your fingers for me. kthx.

i just logged out of facebook for the first time in months, with the intent of only checking in periodically. wish me luck with the detox.

I have just spent a good chunk of my day watching season three of The Guild. OMG I love it! Wil Wheaton is even wearing the Evil Beard of Evil! He doesn't have the Black Leather Pants of Evil, but he does wear a kilt! Waaaah! Amayzeeeen!
