Under clear skies at Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Turf Club staged a well-contested seven-race programme on 21 February, bringing together Purebred Arabians and Thoroughbreds in a balanced and professionally conducted fixture. Competitive fields and measured rides defined an afternoon that combined established performers with progressive contenders.
Proceedings commenced with the Arabian Majesty Stakes, where KAYLA DE CARRERE asserted authority in the concluding stages under a composed and tactically astute ride from Jules Mobian. Prepared by Eric Lemartinel, the winner covered the distance in 2:26.96, finishing decisively ahead of RB MALEXIS, while ASMAHA’AN secured third.
The Emirates Moonlight Cup followed, and EHAB extended a productive afternoon for Mobian and Lemartinel. Travelling smoothly before quickening when required, EHAB registered 2:29.60 to confirm superiority over KATRAIN DE GHAZAL, with ALSHAHEEN taking third place.
In the Wathba Stallions Cup, AF ALFAHEM delivered a sharp and disciplined performance across the sprint trip. Guided confidently by Alexandre da Silva and trained by Ernst Oertel, the winner recorded 1:16.81. AF GHAYYAR finished second, while NAMROOD completed the placings.
The Abu Dhabi Fillies Classic produced a polished display from MOKHEEFA NF. Abdul Aziz Al Balushi positioned the filly prominently before asserting in the straight to secure victory in 1:45.48 for trainers Helal and Tahnon Alalawi. BASHAYER AH followed in second, with ES KHAIRIYAH third.
The Abu Dhabi Colts Classic showcased JAP JAZIL, who demonstrated progressive quality under Sandro Paiva. Representing trainer Irfan Ellahi, the colt sustained his effort to prevail in 1:46.59, holding MUHAREB BAYNOUNAH in second and JAP HAMZAH in third.
Attention then shifted to the Thoroughbred division. In The Twilight Mile, MONFRID produced a fluent and well-timed effort for Ray Dawson and trainer Michael Costa, stopping the clock at 1:35.21. BREAKDANCER secured second, with OLZHAKHAN finishing third.
The concluding contest, The Falcon Wing Sprint, saw L’KARAMA complete a notable double for Dawson and Costa. Displaying a decisive turn of foot, the winner recorded 1:10.98, finishing ahead of ROYALCORRESPONDENT, while AEGEAN STAR rounded out the first three.
