I love music. Luf. This summer seems to be hitting me with a whole ton of new music from groups I love and some new find favorites that strike me from the past. Ones that scream for my attention and I curse myself that it has taken so long to find them.
I went to a show a couple weeks ago for
The Early November. (I saw the lead singer, Ace Enders, play at the "Where's the Band" tour I went to in February.) I liked him, I liked his stuff. I'm still torn, but they do an AWESOME live show. So good. Then add the opening acts, which is always iffy. BUT I was introduced to--
The Swellers, this really great punk band that's been around a decade. A decade! Where have you been? They amuse me. Amazingly wonderful live. I love their album, but holy wow, did they have an amazing set.
The Early November is coming out with an album in July. Score.
And of course I get more music introductions from various people. It sends me into a tailspin of awesome. I'm still chiseling away at
Thrice.
To add to further awesome-
The Classic Crime is coming out with an album this August. (14th to be exact...) So stoked. I fear I might miss their release show, due to Utah travels and wedding celebrations. *sigh.... But! Awesome album, to be sure. And!
Vocal Few (aka Matt & Kristie) are doing house shows- and they're doing one here in July. Yes I'm going. BTW- UTAH PEOPLE! They're coming to SLC! YOU SHOULD GO! Dates are located on link above.
Bumbershoot: I'm also considering going to this.. So-much-music!
Versant is something my brother suggested to me ages ago. If you like
Shiny Toy Guns, you'll love this.
Other things I suggest due to awesome:
Jarrod Gorbel
Katie Costello I desperately need more of her tunes. It's happiness. (ooo! she has a new EP out.. and i still have $3.58 itunes gift card. demands to be used. yaay more katie!)
Vocal Few (obviously.. it's 4 songs, just go take a look)
Ryan Innes
Ace Enders stuff which includes:
Ace Enders and a Million Other People
I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business
I still grin like a fool when Hall & Oates- You Make My Dreams - comes on the radio.
Like-a-fool. Internal dancing absoLUTEly involved.
And with that, I close.
