This is..

This is Kaylie driving

This is Kaylie being dutiful and checking behind her.

 This is Cassidy's reaction.
"Can I panic now!?!"

I took Kaylie to an empty parking lot today to let her take her first drive. It was in my moms car. Cassidy's reaction wasn't one of encouragement.
"Kaylie's driving?! Can I move to a more secure seat??"

With some minor shrieking from the back, Kaylie drove around the parking lot successfully without any injury to the passengers or vehicle.

He's not supposed to be tall!! He's looking at me in the eyes! I had to find a hill to be taller, as I should be.

SISTER!

The time has come! It has finally arrived! All the planning and stressing and anticipation! It's going to be a golden summer! GOLD JERRY! GOLD!

She came early on Saturday, which isn't what I was expecting. I thought I had a couple extra hours to get some things done, but alas. It was a nice surprise. (Apparently they were going to try driving straight through the night and just show up at my door at 8 am.... Thankfully that did NOT happen-I was in crazy cleaner mode)

Note: Brenden (age 12) is as tall as me. I think I've gone up to him a few dozen times to verify again that this is the case. It surprises me every time that we're making eye contact.

I'm so excited for our adventures. The kids are excited. There is a heat wave hitting Arizona. 110-115 degrees. Needless to say, they're happy to escape it.

This is a blurg of nonsense.

Oh but here's something else.

TCC released their album cover... August 14th, people. This just adds to the awesome. FYI

Free to Choose

You have made the choice of how you want to live your life. I can respect that.

Please show me that same courtesy with the way I have chosen to live mine.

Summer of Music=Mind EXPLOSION!

I love music. Luf. This summer seems to be hitting me with a whole ton of new music from groups I love and some new find favorites that strike me from the past. Ones that scream for my attention and I curse myself that it has taken so long to find them.

I went to a show a couple weeks ago for The Early November. (I saw the lead singer, Ace Enders, play at the "Where's the Band" tour I went to in February.) I liked him, I liked his stuff. I'm still torn, but they do an AWESOME live show. So good. Then add the opening acts, which is always iffy. BUT I was introduced to-- The Swellers, this really great punk band that's been around a decade. A decade! Where have you been? They amuse me. Amazingly wonderful live. I love their album, but holy wow, did they have an amazing set.
The Early November is coming out with an album in July. Score.

And of course I get more music introductions from various people. It sends me into a tailspin of awesome. I'm still chiseling away at Thrice.

To add to further awesome- The Classic Crime is coming out with an album this August. (14th to be exact...) So stoked. I fear I might miss their release show, due to Utah travels and wedding celebrations. *sigh.... But! Awesome album, to be sure. And! Vocal Few (aka Matt & Kristie) are doing house shows- and they're doing one here in July. Yes I'm going. BTW- UTAH PEOPLE! They're coming to SLC! YOU SHOULD GO! Dates are located on link above.

Bumbershoot: I'm also considering going to this.. So-much-music!

Versant is something my brother suggested to me ages ago. If you like Shiny Toy Guns, you'll love this.

Other things I suggest due to awesome:

Jarrod Gorbel
Katie Costello I desperately need more of her tunes. It's happiness. (ooo! she has a new EP out.. and i still have $3.58 itunes gift card. demands to be used. yaay more katie!)
Vocal Few (obviously.. it's 4 songs, just go take a look)
Ryan Innes
Ace Enders stuff which includes:
Ace Enders and a Million Other People
I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business

I still grin like a fool when Hall & Oates- You Make My Dreams - comes on the radio.
Like-a-fool. Internal dancing absoLUTEly involved.

And with that, I close.
