Swimming

Image
Quinn had his very first swim lesson yesterday. We are so excited to get him going in the water- especially after last summer's nightmare of the water. Mary (our very bestest neighbor) is a lifeguard at the Oregon City pool and is being very wonderful to help us out with lessons. As soon as we got into the pool area Quinn was ready to jump right on in. Of course then once he got in he realized how cold the water got and spent the first twenty minutes screaming his head off. But then they let mommy get in with him, and soon we were off and laughing. He absolutely LOVED the water balls and actually used them as a security blanket in the beginning. Now that we know we can go to an earlier swim time we think it will also be a lot easier on him. Watch out Michael Phelps!

Books, Books and more Books

Nothing like making his Grandma Joan proud! Quinn Loves to get all of his books into a big pile and then he goes through each one. Sometimes in the mornings instead of dragging out his blanket with him he'll have his hands full of books. I would be totally fine with this if itweren't for the mess of books I am always having to pick up- oh well back to reading.

Quinn got to go to his cousin Lilly's sixth birthday party, which was a Woodland Wonderland for all the kids. My crazy sister-in-law had over 15 little ones running around, luckily she also recruited alot of help and the Kids all had a blast doing their own thing.
I was able to help out by making the cake, and she did a fantastic job on the Mushroom cupcake lollipops.
Hope this year is a great one for you Fairy Lilly (Yes, she is a real fairy- she'll tell you so!)

Big Boy Bed

We finally have graduated out of the Pack-N-Play and have moved up to an actual twin size bed. Mommy and Quinn are both very excited. Quinn loves to be able to come in and get mommy and daddy up in the AM, and mommy loves tht her mischief maker will actually wait until the morning before getting out of his bed. After a full week we have made it through with only falling off the bed twice! Also, the window had to be blocked with the body pillow, because Quinn was having way too much fun mooning the backyard, and trying to climb out of it.

Soon he will be into his new room too-I'll try to keep you updated :)
