Seriously

It is fascinating to read back through some of the things posted on this blog. Indeed it has been years since I've cared to write much of anything here. I am, however, considering diving back in.

Eh. I'll take it slow. Feet first...

Soup for the Poop

Onion soup

2 qt water, 3 large onions thinly sliced, 3 bay leaves, 1 clove of garlic crushed, salt, pepper, 1/2 cup sherry,2 tbsp olive oil.
Place onion and garlic in frying pan and heat over medium heat. add olive oil and saute until good and caramelized (about 15-20 minutes). add sherry and stir all the onions off of the bottom, transfer into 3 qt stock pot and add water and bay leaves, simmer about 1 1/2 hours. Season w/ salt and pepper - can add beef base to give a bolder flavor.

The leaves. The air always smelled good then. The stained deck. The maple trees. Climb them until you find a nice place to sit. The past floats as your shadow. The past sinks into you. Or you could say it did sink, some time ago. The patchy grass. The smell of leaves. The rubber boots – and the smell of rain.

The end is only the beginning of how you will interpret this life. Everything you’ve seen, everything you’ve done, everywhere you’ve been. They are all colors on your palette. Make them harmonious.

Do not long for the past. If the past seems like a dark time, realize that one moves forward, not backward, and ghosts of the past are but pieces of memory and do not represent current reality. There is only forward. Pick up the pace – or at least walk comfortably.

Document this

A couple full length documentaries, both of which had their own typical modern docu-style moments of emotions-targeted pathos, and both of which I found to be intriguing and worth my time nonetheless:

America: Freedom to Fascism

And an interview with the director of Who Killed the Electric Car?

Update: Add Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth to the list
