Platonic Physical Contact: Yes please! He loves hugs!
Romantic/Sexual Physical Contact: ...he's an owl. I might consider romantically pairing him with another animal/bird character, but I'm definitely not okay with sexual stuff for him.
Violent Physical Contact: Ask first. He's more likely to run away than retaliate.
Mindreading: Sure!
IC Personal Boundaries/Warnings: Humans make him nervous, although this will probably fade after he gets to know some.

History: Owly lives in a small cottage in the woods, with his own garden that he takes care of. We see in flashbacks that he had a mother growing up, and she taught him a lot of his current life philosophy, although his father has not been seen yet. It's also unknown if the cottage he grew up in is the one he lives in now, although for now I'll assume it's a different one he's moved to.
Owly was very lonely for a long time, since despite his friendliness and vegetarian nature, the other animals of the forest were naturally scared of him. However, one day after a heavy rainstorm he found a small worm named Wormy unconscious, and nursed him back to health. While Wormy was scared of him at first, the two of them soon developed a strong bond. Owly brought Wormy back to his parents, who were also scared of him but soon became grateful after learning what Owly had done for their son.
Due to the strong bond they shared, Wormy ended up returning home with Owly, promising to keep in touch with his parents. Slowly, thanks to Wormy's presence, the other forest creatures started to warm up to Owly as well, making it easier for him to make friends with them. Later on, though, when he tried to befriend a flying squirrel, but the squirrel was scared of him. While Wormy was more able to befriend the squirrel, said squirrel still didn't trust Owly.
Owly tried to learn to fly to befriend the squirrel, but soon figured out that his wings were too short to do so. However, after Wormy got stuck up a tree while flying with the squirrel and got hurt, he renewed his determination to fly, but was still unable. However, his concern for Wormy and his determination touched the flying squirrel, and led to him befriending Owly and teaching him how to glide instead.
Later on, after most of the creatures of the forest had become friends with Owly, a newcomer arrived-an opossum. However, he was quite shy around the already established group, and due to his overactive imagination, when Wormy saw him, he mistook the opossum for a dragon from the story they'd heard, and his freakout scared both the opossum and the other animals. Later on, while Owly was able to find out about the opossum's actual species in a book and share this with everyone else, thus relieving their fears.
That night, the opossum got his paw stuck in a fence Owly had put up around a broken tree while trying to retrieve a ball. When Owly came out to try and help, he reacted with even more fear. However, Wormy, who had gotten over his fear, came over to help instead, as well as reassure the opossum that Owly was friendly. Eventually, they were able to understand each other, and the opossum soon joined everyone in their games.
There are some more free stories available here, but most of them are simply about making new friends or dealing with small problems.
Personality: Owly is basically the friendliest, most loving creature you'll ever meet. Despite the usual predatory nature of his species, he has never harmed a single living creature, and has actually managed to switch to a vegetarian diet. He basically wants to befriend everyone he meets, and wants all his friends to do the same. He will lecture his friends about the importance of helping others if he thinks he has to. However, at the same time, he can be a little too soft-hearted, wanting to solve every dilemma through diplomacy or talk instead of conflict. He rarely even gets angry, and even when he does, he usually doesn't stay angry for long, and will always be willing to work out a compromise. Even being beaten in a contest doesn't stir up any feelings of jealousy in him, and he is always polite to everyone.
Owly is also very curious about the world around him. Whenever he encounters something he doesn't yet understand, he looks it up. For him, this is both a way of conquering fear and learning some more about the world around him. A lot of his knowledge has been obtained from books.
One thing that upsets Owly greatly is seeing others be afraid of him. Even though he understands why they act this way, and will try to avoid them if it seems like the best way to calm them down, it doesn't make the fact hurt any less. He can also get quite upset when his friends are in any sort of distress, and will often do his best to help in those sorts of situations. Of course, he also gets upset when he sees any creature in distress, even if they aren't yet one of his friends. Another thing that upsets him even more is having other creatures be hurt because of him, even if it is indirectly. Usually, if allowed to help, he is quite good at solving situations of all sorts. Even if the first solution doesn't work, he can usually think of plenty more. And he is always willing to try more.
The one creature that Owly might be considered prejudiced against is humans. They are much larger than him, and he can't communicate with them. They also apparently capture and hold other animals against their will, all of which combine to make them seem like monsters to him. However, he mostly just tries to avoid them if possible, and so far in canon he hasn't had any direct interaction with humans.
Debt: Prevent humans from ever entering the forest he lives in. This is definitely going to change as he develops more CR, at the very least to him being able to pick and choose which humans can enter. If the 4th wall event is allowed to be canon, Bokuto will be an exception to this.

Strengths
-Gardening: Owly loves gardening, and is also really good at it. He often tries to prepare plants that he knows his animal friends like.
-Building things: Owly is also very good at planning and building things, with the right materials. Though the materials he does have access to are few, the things he makes still turn out quite serviceable.

-Friendly: Owly is naturally friendly to everyone, and good at befriending most creatures.
-Empathic: Owly is good at understanding others and relating to their experiences. He often knows just what to do or say to make someone feel better or get over their fear.
-Talking to animals: As an owl, Owly can talk to any animal.
Weaknesses
-Pacifist: Owly prefers to try and solve all situations through diplomacy, even if it become obvious that such a plan won't work.
-Passive: Owly is pretty passive about most things, and is easily deterred by the anger of others. He's more likely to stand up for others, but he still won't be forceful.
-Somewhat naive: Owly does understand that the world is a harsh place and bad things happen, but still tends to believe that everything will always work out fine in the end.
-Self-blaming: Even if he only has minimal involvement with a bad situation, if he had any involvement at all, Owly will feel as if everything is his fault.
-Anti-human: Despite his friendliness towards all creatures, the only encounters Owly has had with humans are negative ones. Since they cannot even understand his speech, he tends to see them as a sort of frightening monster.
-Unable to fly: Due to his build, Owly actually can't fly, although he can glide from heights. While he's mostly dealt with this emotionally, it still means that there might be situations he can't escape due to this.
