Appreciation post here, thanks to this community, the Graphene OS team and their excellent online guides I've made the switch over the last couple days.
It went better than expected, zero issues with the bootloader (I did it via Arch Linux). The most time consuming part was umming and ahhh-ing about when to take the plunge. Glad I did, have even gone as far as to set up a separate profile to install Android auto with the sandboxed google apps to get that to work. The only complication there being the nav app I used (Here WeGo) and music app (Tidal) needed the google play versions to work with Android auto.
I'm on a Pixel 7 pro and the phone feels better than new. If anyone is on the fence, the effort of switching is absolutely worth not feeding Google etc. Can't recommend enough! Keep up the great work GOS
