May 2013

The month of May was full of fun starting with the pleasure of spending a few days with Owen and Bennett while Megan was able to go to Women's Conference at BYU with her mom.  Rich and I had so much fun!  

One day we took Bennett to the Aquarium in Long Beach.  He LOVES it there!

One night after Owen got home from work, we went to a nearby mall that has a splash pad.  As soon as he saw it, he started running for it.  He had a blast!

Redlands had their first airshow at the nearby airport.  I'm glad we could just walk over to the airport from our house to see it.

Grandpa West turned 91 years old on May 21st.  We all met at Hof's Hut for lunch.  

 On May 30th, Owen turned 30 years old.  We had a GREAT weekend celebrating!  The weather was perfect.  The weekend was filled with swimming, shaved ice, homemade ice cream, barbecue, cake, more swimming, fire pit, s'mores, and stories.  We love our family SO much!!  We are so grateful for each and everyone!

 Grandmother West passed away on February 22, 2013.  All of our kids and most of the spouses were able to come to the funeral.  It was a wonderful service commemorating her life. The girls all sang, Richard, Eddie and Owen all spoke.  Here are a few photos from the day...I'm sorry that I didn't gather everyone up for a group photo.

We were able to take a day and go to Disneyland while everyone was visiting.
So FUN!!

Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 2012

Thanksgiving 2012 !

A traditional favorite of ours on Thanksgiving morning

 is the Turkey Trot, a 5K.

This year we had Julie and David (in the stroller),

Owen, Megan and Bennett,

Karen and Danny,

and

Dad and I.  

So fun to have such a big group!!

It always requires getting up super early and being on the road by 6am.

We are SUPER proud of Karen winning 2nd place for her age group!!  She represents our family winning!!

By the way, Dad did his best time this year even beating Mom...ok, this year I walked with Julie and David, but Dad still did super well!!
