This program is the first step in learning more about what technologies are available today and how they can help in any industry. The lectures provide a general insight into technologies, breaking the stereotype that IT is just programming. Working language – Latvian.

Our mentorship program gathers professionals in the field of IT and tech with the goal of providing support to women developing their talents, taking their first steps in the IT field or advancing their careers further in this field.

Karjeras vadība
Karjeras vadība” ir pašvadīta tiešsaistes programma, kas ietver video lekcijas no pieredzējušiem karjeras konsultantiem un lektoriem, parktiskos uzdevumus un lasāmos materiālus, lai ļautu sev saprast un atbidēt uz jautājumiem par to, ko sagaidīt no karjeras maiņas uz IT? Kā neapjukt jautājumos, bet saprast, izlemt un sākt darīt? Kā saprast, kas man patīk, padodas un izdosies?
Programma ir pieejama un atvērta visu gadu, bez ierobežojuma.
WoTech
WoTech is a reskilling program, run by Riga TechGirls and Smartworkacademy, which prepares women for a junior positions in the programming field.
Work in Tech
A fast-lane path to IT. In this program, women learn in-demand skills such as network protocols, customer support and encryption techniques that will have them job-ready in less than 6 months. No degree or experience required. Each year over 100 participants finish the course.

She Goes Tech
Riga TechGirls, in close cooperation with Accenture Baltics, offered a basic technology training for women in technologies and programming languages such as Microsoft .NET, JAVA, Scala, JavaScript and DevOps.
More than 1000 participants.
Tech training for girls in Egypt “Girls in Tech”
The “Girl in Tech” project is a comprehensive initiative designed to address the prevalent lack of awareness and misconceptions surrounding the tech industry in Egypt, particularly among girls. Through targeted interventions, the project aims to empower 100 girls by providing them with the necessary resources, skills, and support to pursue successful careers in technology. By bridging the gender gap and fostering inclusivity within the tech sector, the project seeks to contribute to the socioeconomic development of Egypt and empower girls to become leaders in the field of technology.

Build your Start-up
Riga TechGirls was created by start-up founders and thus one of our goals is to encourage new female founders and support the existing ones. The programs found here will be valuable both for fresh founders as well as ones that are already quite experienced and ready to share their knowledge with others.
Hackathon
Participants have the chance to work with experts from different industries to develop innovative solutions to solve today’s most pressing challenges in these fields. Teams are challenged to explore new ideas and create new technologies that can help create a more sustainable future. At the end of the hackathon, participants present their ideas to an esteemed panel of judges, who then award the most successful projects with prizes.
The main goal is to provide a safe, well organised and welcoming space for women to have their first attempt in a hackathon.
Around 100-200 participants annually.
Spring Up
SPRING UP is designed to empower early-stage startups led by diverse teams with at least one female founder.
By fostering a supportive environment, building community, and providing tailored mentorship, expert guidance, and resources, we aim to help you develop your products and gain the know-how, insights, and skills that are needed to make your startup investable.
Female Founders Lunch
Our monthly casual lunch gathering takes place every second Tuesday of the month. Come to connect, network, and share your invaluable insights and experiences.
Who is a female founder? It’s a woman who has built her startup or is in the process of doing it. You are a founder even if the foundation is in the hopes-and-dreams phase!
You can come with a specific challenge that needs an extra opinion or idea, or just join to have fun! All topics useful for female founders are welcome!
Inclusive Startupreneurs
As a part of ESI program, organized by Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and partners, that focuses on promoting and supporting sustainable and innovative business development,
Riga TechGirls created an elective study course available for all students in Latvia. The course is designed to promote equal opportunities and women’s involvement in innovation and technology development.
Course period: 22./23. Spring semester; 20.02.-31.03.
Female Founders Across borders
This is a joint program of Riga TechGirls and Tech4Impact NGO (Uzbekistan), financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia. The goal is to promote the creation and development of technology companies founded and run by women in Latvia and Uzbekistan, ensuring female founders with the training, mentoring and experience exchange.
30 participants in Latvia and Uzbekistan.

Improve your digital skills
No matter what’s your field, digital skills and tools can help make your everyday life easier and your work – more effective! If you are ready to learn and upskill yourself, then the programs here are perfectly suited for you. So far we have created programs for Teachers, Creatives, Healthcare professionals and NGOs but keep an eye out for this section as more programs will come!
Digital Skills for NGOs
With the support from Google.org, in 2023 we launched a digital skills program for NGOs. Similar to “Cilvēcīgi par Tehnoloģijām” programs for teachers, creatives and healthcare professionals, the program aimed at teaching the basic digital skills to anyone from the NGO sector free of charge.
Although the live sessions ended in 2023, the contents are still accessible to anyone who wants to raise their level of digital literacy.
In the initial run, the program gathered participants from 93 countries.
Google AI Essentials
The world is changing rapidly, and keeping up can be challenging.
“Google AI Essentials”, developed by Google.org and brought to you by Riga TechGirls, is a beginner-friendly course designed to help navigate this change.
The aim is to learn practical AI tools to streamline tasks, enhance productivity, and work smarter in your daily life.
STEM SCHOOL in Africa
The overall aim of the project is to show girls, their parents and the society of South Africa, Cameroon and Tanzania that STEM fields are not only meant for everyone but that studying and working in these fields can be exciting.
Digital skills for teachers
In 2022 and in 2025, we invited Latvian teachers to participate in the digital growth master classes of the “Technology Made Human” teacher curriculum.
The purpose of these lessons was to improve the digital skills of Latvian teachers. The teaching content was designed in such a way that teachers would acquire not only theoretical, but also very practical knowledge on how to:
– use various digital tools smarter and more efficiently in your work,
– make your daily work easier,
– demonstrating your digital competence in the classroom, directly and indirectly increasing students’ digital skills.

Digital skills for health care professionals
In 2023 and in 2024, we invited Latvian healthcare professionals to participate in the digital growth masterclass program “Technology Made Human”.
The program was free of charge and open to all interested parties representing any health care industry, regardless of position.
The lessons were be divided into five thematic blocks, and upon completion of the specific block, the relevant main topic will be learned. Within each block, a more practical workshop also took place, during which, accompanied by mentors, it was possible to already apply or at least learn a digital skill in more depth.

Digital skills for creatives
In the spring of 2022, we invited participants to participate in the digital growth master classes “Technology Made Human”, where, within the framework of this particular program, the emphasis was placed directly on the knowledge that is valuable for representatives of creative and cultural professions.
Anyone interested in representing any of the creative industries, including cultural institutions, museums, art galleries, artists’ organizations, music institutions, etc., was invited to participate in the program. representatives and membership are free.

Summer School for girls
A week during summer where we focus on a specific topic by having practical workshops, learning theory and studying the ins and outs of said topic! Throughout the years we have focused on such topics as Space Tech, Game Design and Development, Digital media & social network management, PyGirls Programming and Business ideation & marketing.
We usually announce the dates for summer schools in the spring.

Girls go CERN
We plan to send three or more girls on a trip to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in July 2024. The goal of this project is to inspire girls and young women to choose STEM as their future careers.

Erasmus+ youth exchange program "Digital skills through Game design"
MAIN GOAL: To help the participants understand the basics of game design. During the youth exchange, the participants will learn to create their own game step by step.
