Black Eye

No folks this is not eye shadow. Courtesy of his dear sister Kayla. Not sure what happened but he says she threw him into the bunk bed ladder.

Gymnastics

I put Gavin in gymnastics during the school year to keep him busy. He's already a crazy, nutty, bouncing off the wall kind of kid so this is the perfect outlet for him. The first day he refused to do a thing but this was our second time and he loves it. He now thinks my furniture is his own personal gymnasium.

First day of School- Third & K.

I think I slept less then the kids did the night before school started. I was so excited and kept going through my mind making sure I had everything ready to go in the morning. They were both up before their alarms. Garrett was jumping off the walls with excitement. They both had great first days and love their teachers. Here's to a great new year!! Proud of you Makayla and Garrett!!

Point Loma Lighthouse

On Saturday (27th) after we checked out of our hotel we tried our third attempt at the Point Loma Lighthouse. We brought along our stake park passes but they refused to let us use it since it was a "National Park"...LAME! Oh well. I remember going here when I was 14 almost 15 and loved it. Eli and I have a thing for lighthouses. He proposed to me at one, and we make it a point to visit it every time we go see his parents up north. We started at the bottom and went on a nice hike, then we went to the museum. There the kids loved watching the boats. Then we walked to the momument and then over to the lighthouse. I must be getting old, cause being cramped at the top of the lighthouse with a million other people and smelling them was making me sick. This was a nice way to end our Summer vacation. We all had the best time in San Diego but are convinced that they built that town for prius', way to small for our liking. Bring on School!!

Mormon Batalion

This was Amazing!! I loved it! I think the kids did as well, but this was my favorite part of Old Town. Mason was so cute panning for gold and building brick houses. The kids kept screaming, "I've found gold, mom we're gonna be rich!!" If only kids, if only. One of the girls doing the tour I found out is from Kaysville, UT so we talked a little of UT. Great time!!

Old Town

Friday (27th)at 1:00pm Eli had to come back to Riverside for work. We hit Old Town in the morning before he dropped us off at the hotel. We walked around looking at shops, we went to the Mormon Batallion (great btw and will post on that next). We stopped by a candy shop and got all kinds of goodies. I told the kids each got to pick one thing and this was it...I immediatly regretted my decision. It was so much fun that when Eli came back that night we went to El Fandango for dinner and then went shopping again. We were even able to see Seaworld's fireworks from Old Town. We were in one shop when all of a sudden all the store workers ran outside so we followed and the streets were filled with bicycles. We asked what was going on and one of the store girls told us that every last Friday of the month they have a bike mass. I'm not really sure what it is, I couldn't really hear her, but it was cool non the less.

USS Midway

This was not the most fun thing for me on our vacation. Don't get me wrong the boat was great, but trying to hold Gavin's hand through, help him up and down all the steep ladders, take pictures, cramped with a million others, listen to a audio tour all while sweating to death on the stinky ship. Once we finally got to the deck with all the airplanes, Eli took Kayla and Garrett to the top and I stayed on deck with the two little ones. Gavin was sad that he didn't get to go on the tour but he was to small, Mason fell 3 times and kept bleeding, I was hot and gettin pretty ticked off after being on the boat for 3 hours. Luckily for Eli he ended the tour just as I was leaving the boat to go back to the car. The kids loved it and so did Eli, but I was not a fan. Maybe Eli and I will have to go back without the kids sometime. On the upside we did get police discount :)

Shamu video's

Summer Vaca in San Diego 2011

This was our big summer vacation in San Diego. It was AWESOME!!! Seriously the best trip!! We left Tuesday night (23rd)for the hotel when Eli got home from work. We took the kids to Johns Incredible Pizza then swimming at the pool. Wednesday (24th)we went to Seaworld. We got all 4 kids in free, what's better then that?? I know right! It wasn't to crowded nor to hot. We missed the beginning of the Shamu show so we stayed to see the last show of the night. That's where my whole family sat on the first step in the splash zone. Once Gavin got soaked, he came crying up to me higher in the bleachers. :) Eli, Makayla, and Garrett rode the Atlantis ride for their first time, Garrett cried, Eli and Makayla were itching to go again. While I was waiting for them to get off the ride I told Gavin to stand next to the fence, (he didn't know that when the ride goes down you get soaked by the fence) his face was priceless when he got wet...but didn't want to take a picture for fear of getting the camera wet. We were smart this time and took the kids swimming suits so they could play in the water land and go on the wet rides and not get their clothes all wet. ;)

Skydiving

Eli was supposed to do this for his birthday in April but one thing after another happened and we ended up canceling his trip. So while we were down in San Diego for our family vacation we went to Jamul CA so he could plumet to his death. Well not really :) Garrett was nervous that I was going to do it next and he told me he didn't want me to go because he loves me and wanted me to stay alive. I asked him, "what about dad?" He told me as long as I don't jump from an airplane he will be happy. :) Eli had the jump of a life time and said he wants to do this everyplace we go.

Lucas Oil Races

Awesome!! This was sooo much fun!! The night was a little long for the kids. We were there from 5:00pm to 12:00am. Why is it that the crashes are always the best part?!?

Summer crafty fun

Who needs expensive Crayola chalk paint when you can make it for free!! I found out how online and the kids spent 3 1/2 hours outside painting everything. Eli was worried about it staining our porch but the next morning it all washed off. After awhile the water dried up and the color was stuck in the bottom of the pan so we just put in more water and they were able to paint all over again. They loved it, and I loved how busy it kept them.

Lake Perris

July 30th we went to the lake to ride bikes, bbq and swim. Well ride bikes we did. We rode the entire perimeter of the lake and boy was I tired. Makayla and Garrett each rode on their own and did great. It was a lot of fun except the part where Mason and Gavin went crashing when the trailer tipped over. A little road rash on Mason's head but they were both okay.
Image
We forgot a scrapper for the bbq and we ended up eating crunchy hotdogs and hambergers.
Image
After eating the kids jumped on their bikes again and kept riding around.
Image
We were supposed to take them swimming down a the lake but Eli and I were both to tired to move from the grass so we skipped the swimming part. We did promise to take them back to the lake a different time and swim. And that's just what we did last Friday but I forgot to take my camera. :(
Image
It was fun and the great part is Eli get's in free :)
