Water Park

Today we went to a very cool water park with our new friends the Hammacks. But I never got a picture of just how cool this water park was...oh well, maybe next time. But how cool you ask? Well not only was the water freezing but it even has 2 water slides, oh ya it's that cool. And it's all free because it's at a city park along with the regular playgrounds. We had a great time and before we even left to go home the kids were already asking me when we can go back.

Park Day

The weather's been nice and cool with strong winds for about a week, and it's cooled our pool off 10 degrees so we've been at a loss as what to do with ourselves. So on Monday we packed a picnic, some toys and rode our bikes to the park. We spent the next 4 1/2 hours having the best time. Now don't let Mason's picture fool ya, he took that himself :) This was really fun for me most of all to just spend uninterrupted time with my kids without TV, or fighting getting in the way. I love my family!

Father's Day

Every year on Father's Day the Nichelini/Harrington, or in our case the Thompson's all get together for a family reunion. I don't know the whole story of the Nichelini family although I probably should since I've been told it a few times, but here's the run down. A long time ago, like 1850's a mom and dad had 10 kids and started a winery. Eli's mother is from the lineage of one of those 10 kids. It's a great time for my kids to get to hang out with their cousins and aunt's and uncles. We have one of their wine bottles from the year we were married and we wanted to get a bottle for every year the kids were born, but they don't carry bottles older then 2007, so we're going to collect bottles for every ten years we are married.

Fire open house

The West Sac fire station had an open house. They had bike give aways, free ID's for the kids, hotdogs, cotton candy, face painting, bounce houses, and the coolest thing was watching the firemen use the jaws of life on some cars. It was a great event to get out of the house and for the kids to see a little of what firemen do. On the way home Garrett asked us if you have to be a fireman before you can be a cop. He wanted to know why they just didn't want to be a cop. So we very kindly told our sweet boy that firemen need hero's to, not everyone can be as cool as their dad ;)

Pool Days

We bought a pool! I was going to get us passes to the rec center that has a very cool pool with water slides, but Eli bought us our very own pool. We spend most of our days splashing around. It's the best and the water temp is 85 degrees. The kids have become little fishes, well except Mason he's still afraid of water.

Garrett's Graduation

10 months, 2 schools and lots of friends later Garrett has finished Kindergarten. He is the smartest, sweetest, kind, perfect boy and got the best report card. Big G we are so proud of all that you accomplished and I hope you love First grade just as much. Here's to being done with early pick up!!! Hoorah!! Image Image Image Image Image

Memorial Weekend

This was my favorite part of the whole weekend. After all the sculptures dropped into the ocean we walked down the pier and got some great pictures. Afterwards we went and saw the old Mansion, which is soo beautiful! And then on our drive home on the 299 we stopped in Whiskeytown lake and got some photos of the lake. I loved the drive home! All in all it was a good weekend, but now Eli's asking when he gets to race in it again? If I get my way I will NOT be involved in helping!!! Image Image Image Image

Kinetic Sculpture race

Well this blog post will be so long it will require two posts. Memorial weekend was Eli's weekend, we all just came along for the ride. He loves the Arcadia Kinetic sculpture race, he even competed in it once, so we all went to watch for the weekend. Now all that know about Humboldt know their a different sort of breed. I did not fit in! On day one was the parade where you can walk around and look at all the different sculptures and see then show off to the judges. We also hiked up to dead mans drop to watch them come down the sand....it sucked, for me at least. On Sunday we watched them all drop into the water. It was a very long weekend, but the drive home on the 299 was the BEST part, that will come in the next post. The kids loved the ant the best, big foot was pretty cool, Horton had a stupid chant that Eli keep chanting as loud as he could (totally embarrassing)and the bus was pretty rad. Prairie City

After our trip to the Temple we went to check out a state rec park. It's a huge 4 wheel park for boys with all sorts of toys, motorcycles, dirt bikes, quads, trucks, jeeps, etc. Eli was in HEAVEN!! At first we took it slow, went through a little mud puddle, but by the end of the day we were flying through the deepest, muddiest of puddles and were lovin it. We got stuck once but Eli go us out, but there was one unlucky guy who got his BRAND NEW jeep stuck in mud. We towed him out and continued to 4 wheel around the park. This was a GREAT DAY!! Sacramento Temple

On April 28th we went exploring of our new city. While looking at a map of the area we found the LDS Temple was really close. We walked around the grounds and tried to stay out of the way of all the wedding pictures, but I'm pretty sure my kids are in the background of some lucky brides photo's ;) We found someones clothes on the ground so Kayla took them to the front desk and the Temple workers took us back to a room to show the kids what the inside of the Temple looks like. The kids got to look through a book of pictures and some workers talked with the kids. It was a great day and the kids are still talking about the trip to the Temple. Image Image Image Image Image

Fairy Tale Town

For Gavin's birthday we took the kids to Fairy Tale Town. We've been here once before when Kayla was 2 and Garrett was 2 months old. Makayla had just as much fun at age 8 as she did at age 2. Eli fell asleep on one of the benches so we left him there to sleep. An hour later he found us and was embarrassed for falling asleep. He said he got woken up by kids sticking their fingers up his nose :) Ha Ha Ha Image Image Image Image Image
