Sean Rafique at Rosegate Mortgage was one of the mortgage brokers recommended to us by our excellent realtor, Cara Pierce, and was the first one we spoke with during our home and mortgage search. From his very friendly and calming introduction during that initial call, we knew we had found the other partner in our home purchase and had found our forever mortgage broker. We cannot stress this enough, but Sean is just an insanely calming presence that’s often not found in the high-pressure home buying process.
Our initial call with him lasted almost two hours, and he patiently and eagerly answered every question we had about the current mortgage environment and process. We were a bit concerned given the interest rates at the time (mid-October 2023) and what we could do to minimize their impact on our home search regarding affordability, but Sean completely put us at ease from the very beginning. During the preapproval process, he provided us with numerous modeling options regarding the impact of potentially buying points, available loan options, and potential refinancing options (and costs) if there were significant rate decreases in the first three years post-closing. Our prior mortgage broker did none of these things during our last home purchase, so Sean doing all of these, unprompted I might add, as part of his process really impressed us.
Thanks to Sean Rafique and Rosegate’s efforts, we had an insanely smooth closing (not a single issue), are now in our new home with a great rate (given this inflationary period), and a very affordable mortgage and could not be happier. Sean is both an amazing person and an amazing mortgage broker, and we cannot sing his and the team at Rosegate’s praises enough.
