Cochran

Cochran is on the Gila river, at on time it was the place on the Gila, railroad railroad station, general store and boarding house.  Coke ovens to the north.  Nothing is left of Cochran today.  Tina and I were hoping to find some little treasure of the past but no luck.

My Grandma decorated my bedroom door, I had to go through the crepe paper to get out !!!

June 12, 2011 was the 50^th wedding anniversary of Robert and Arlene (Blahnik) Sandoval. They were married in Prescott Arizona in 1961­­­­­­­. They met while attending Mingus Union High School in Jerome and have lived their married lives in Jerome and Cottonwood. Robert worked the mines of Jerome and was employed and retired from Phoenix Cement.  Arlene was employed with Town of Clarkdale, Cordes Water Company, and retired from Yavapai College. Their anniversary was marked with a dinner hosted by their four children, Tina Rowden, Mike Sandoval, Melinda Huffman, Laurie Bueno and their spouses. Their fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren continued the celebration of this occasion on June 18^, 2011 with a surprise party. Family and friends congratulate them and express the best of wishes on this Golden Anniversary.

Painting the Bedroom...No fooling! We are taking one room at a time. This month was the back bedroom. ....Sand....

There was and IS lots and lots of weeds...the Rule is 10 weeds need to be pulled before you get through Grandma's door...We may have to up the ante, there are lots and lots of weeds.

Showing a gal a good time

We went for a drive on Friday...We did the Apache Trail thing.... After eating dust..yes the road  changes from paved to dirt waaaayyyy before you get to Tortilla Flat we stopped and checked out the vegetation (Potty break). As Jeff was looking for a road to the water I thought  you know how many people think that the are seeing a mirage in the middle of the desert? Water among the cactus????

 And after bouncing along and taking the winding curves... we got to inspiration point...you know it doesn't inspire much when its day light and tons of people coming and going...It would have been great to check out the water/bridge with the moonlight and music playing on the radio...ah well another day.

we stopped by to see the cliff dwellings, I was not too keen on walking up the cliffs when they were due to close in 1 hr. more of a good time we went that way to Globe....yes I got to go out to eat in Globe !!!! Have yet to figure out why I get to go OUT of down to eat....maybe for my birthday I will get to eat at a restaurant close to home....for my birthday.... This definitely showing a gal a good time...
