The Freedom to Climb is Not Free...

The Red River Gorge Climbers' Coalition is currently accepting applications for a Land Manager. Applications will close March 1st, 2026.

The RRGCC is where a passion for climbing meets purpose. We are thrilled to announce that we are growing our team and are seeking to hire a full-time Land Manager to take ownership of stewardship over all RRGCC properties.

This role will focus on stewarding the 1,800+ acres that the RRGCC currently owns, and continually leading stewardship efforts as we advance in our mission to expand climbing access in the Red River Gorge through future land acquisitions.

Why should you apply?

  • Work in the heart of the climbing industry
  • Be an integral part of the team that protects rock climbing in the Red River Gorge

What does the RRGCC do?

Protect Climbing Access

We work to maintain a positive relationship with U.S. National Forest Service, Red River Gorge community leaders, and individual landowners to ensure public access to climbing for ALL.

Land Conservation

As responsible climbers it’s our job to protect and conserve the land that gives us so much. We are stewards striving to build sustainable infrastructure and advocates of LNT ethics to minimize impact on this precious land.

Build Community

From bringing new climbers together for education on climbing stewardship, to rallying folks for a trail day, to taking some time to celebrate at Rocktoberfest, we want to secure climbing for generations to come. From the beginning, we've brought the climbing community together.

"IF WE OWN IT, THEY CAN'T CLOSE IT." The RRGCC owns and maintains over 1,800 acres in the Red River Gorge. We work tirelessly to ensure climbing through the region is open and accessible to climbers.
