That said, I am still very much playing games. I'm currently going through Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection. I'm working through The After Years now. It's nice to play old school stuff, and Cecil has always been one of my favorite FF heroes, so it's nice to relive his adventures and see the adventures of his son.
That's really all I've been doing. Not much else to say. I hope you're doing well, journal.

Friday, April 8th, 2011 08:48 pmHello, journal. I'm sorry for ignoring you. Just it seems like nearly everyone I know uses twitter and it's so much more convenient to spam people that way.
But I've also been busy playing games. After Dissidia 012 Duodecim, I went out and purchased Final Fantasy XII, which I'm currently playing like a madman because I found myself enjoying it more than I expected. I expect my OCD will probably terminate my enjoyment of it soon, as I spend more time grinding and hunting marks than inching along in the story. I picked up Revenant Wings as well, and then Final Fantasy IV Complete is going to be out very soon, so it looks like I will be disappearing for quite some time. (Not to mention the backlog of recoded and SB2H).
As for art... well. It'll be there. fffffffffffff Good thing I don't have an artshow this year though fffff.

So many characters that usually don't get merchandise are represented (MUNESHIGEEEEEEEEEEE). So excited! This summer really is shaping up to be a SenBasa summer--so, so glad we're not doing a con this year. *rolls*

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011 10:34 pmHello, journal. I'm sorry I neglected you for a bit. It's just easier to spam my Twitter for all the mundane things happening lately.
As in, video games! I got Dissidia 012 duodecim and I blitzed through it. I was trying to rush to get to Gilgamesh for Jon, but then he goes and buys the game anyway, probably from all my fangirling enabling him orz. Duodecim exposed me to Vaan and I decided I quite liked his character and was interested in hearing his story, so I also went and purchased FF12. That should be here tomorrow. Wish me luck. I played the demo and it made me go meh, so...
In that vein, also got some anime. Bought the first two volumes of Durarara!! and it was fun. Can't wait for the third. I think I like Baccano! more, but DRRR! has its charm--since it's Naritaverse, that means there's a lot of things fucked up about it, and sure enough fffff. I have a huge crush on Celty, she's so adorable. And Shinra. And her and Shinra (whoa het ship!). The dub's pretty good! A lotta A-list names. I haven't watched any of it in the sub because the dub was pretty impressive on its own.
Also got Evangelion 2.22 since Amazon had it listed only for ten bucks. I definitely like the changes they've been making to the series. Looking forward to what's gonna happen next. Also, Kaworu. :3
And that's it really. Life will be returning to SenBasa and the occasional duodecim (since I never beat the original Dissidia, I've been doing that in duodecim--I like the changes they've made to the system so I'm finding it more enjoyable to play 013 through duodecim, even if duodecim is missing the awesome 013 intro). I still have a few art pieces to do (I want to do something for April Fool's Day)... and a couple of fics that I've started for SenBasa. :3 Which seems to be my "writing" inspiration, orz.

Sunday, March 20th, 2011 12:25 amColoring process has begun on the Kizuna piece. After two days of progress, I've only gotten this far. orz Was joking on my twitter that it'd probably be done in 2012. It's mainly cause so much of the piece is done free-hand; I'm not looking forward to the background, which is gonna be my organic stuff, and that takes so much time to do.
That said, this will probably be my BlazBlue magnum opus if everything turns out okay. I'm feeling a bit better about this one than Inquisition Symphony... if I don't completely fuck it up, I'll be giving away a giclee of this piece for free on my artblog.
I want to lick Ragna's arm. It makes me a bit sad that it's gonna get covered up.

Thursday, March 17th, 2011 10:39 pmAh! I never actually paid complete attention to the lyrics before. They're actually really relevant and nicely written! This song pretty much sums up probably why I like the Ieyasu/Mitsunari coupling. I always loved light/dark contrasts in my dynamics.

So I decided to hunt down some ChikaNari doujin. DateSana is super popular in the English fandom, but surely there's a few folks out there that jumped on the Japanese love for the Setouchi pair?
I found some books from this scanlator. They don't know anything about SenBasa--they only picked up the books because the doujin were done by Kodaka Kazuma, a well-known BL artist. They upfront admit their lack of knowledge for SenBasa canon... and proceeded to describe what they did know, based off the book:
Motochika is a scarred, uncouth pirate; Motonari is a kimono-wearing, easily angered territorial lord. Their meetings for peace usually involve hawt, passionate bedroom activity.
I'll admit, I lol'd when I read that--and felt my face starting to burn red with shame. It seriously sounds like it came off the back of a (gay) Harlequin romance novel. As I was telling Sha, I guess that's the appeal of Setouchi orz...
(Of course, upon reading the book, I can see why they described ChikaNari that way; Kodaka takes a much more gentle approach toward Motonari's personality and a more mellow take on their relationship/rivalry.)
Still. I'm so embarrassed. orz Nothing like an outsider's view on something you like to kinda break it down to its most shameful cliches. but i still otp setouchi
Meanwhile, just generally playing SenBasa3. SB2H came in but I promised myself I couldn't play it until I got 100% in SenBasa3. (Almost there!) Keep finding out new moves though; here I thought I knew everything. I'm getting pretty pro!
