Sunday Haiku (on Tuesday)

windshield frost today
needed removal before
weekly bagel trip

how do these days get
so quickly passed that here it’s
already Tuesday

I suppose it isn’t too late to wish you a happy Valentine’s Day, either.

Part of the delay was spent doing a new 3D project. It is, unfortunately, not quite so cuddly as the plush version.

Your wordplay challenges are here. Hope your work schedule leaves enough time for this silliness to fit.

Monday (Sunday Haiku)

some snow yesterday
as I go for donuts clear
skies and frost greet me

Time is slippery, almost like glaze ice under a dusting of snow.

I’d blame the Superbowl for the delay, but that didn’t start until 6:30pm in my time zone. I admit disappointment that the Patriots could not overcome the Seattle defense to win a seventh trophy. I have hope they’ll get another chance soon.

For the next days, the winter Olympics will distract me. I hope I’ll be more timely with the blog post, though.

Cold Sunday Haiku

single digit cold
starts off this winter month with
more cold days ahead

A week has passed by.
Time again to try
To challenge your mind,
Wordplay answers to find.

The puzzle clock chimes,
Sounding too many times.
It’s time for me to state
“I intend not to be late.”

Too cold to play outdoors, so maybe it’s a good excuse to go clean the workshop.

Mumbling Monday

Do I get a pass because it snowed most of the day yesterday, and I was tense while waiting for and then also while watching the snowy game between the Broncos and the Patriots?

Probably not. I let my routine be disrupted, and today I see that TWO Sundays slipped.

Haiku for 1/18

football game with snow?
divisional round at stake
I’ll watch on TV

Haiku for 1/25

anticipating
snow by midday and for one
other day as well

At 10:30am Sunday: light snow has started.

Tiny flakes
For heaven’s sakes
Oh, look; wow!
They’re falling now.

Today:

Snow deserves to be a focus of both haiku. This morning I cleared over 18 inches of snow here in Metrowest Boston. Another few inches are in this afternoon’s forecast.

Just in case you didn’t know, the Patriots overcame snow in Denver to beat the Broncos 10-7, and will go to the Superbowl in two weeks. Amazing.

Somewhere in the recent days, I did find time to make a 3D print. I acknowledge it is a bit of a stretch to call it a cat.

Midweek Rhymes

Blogging Fail

Missing a day
might be okay
If it makes room
For additional play

Wednesday Confidence

In the beginning of the middle
I have accomplished very little,
But by the end of this fine Wednesday,
I’ll have mastered every jot and tittle.

Heady Rhyme

With hardware I don’t tinker.
I am more a pure-sort thinker.
Just tossing around ideas
Hoping to find panaceas.

Nor am I a math whiz,
Doing sums my peak biz.
Einstein I shall never be.
So I just noodle with philosophy.
