Tuesday: circuit training + 6.52km. under the rain. WASAK. i walked like i just had a circumcision (or at least that’s how i think young boys walked after that procedure), my entire body was screaming in pain, and i just felt like such a zombie on my way home.

Thursday: 6.03km speed training, but had to cut it short because i had to be really early at work the following morning. but i was still an hour late for the damn call time hahaha.

Saturday: long run, 16.15km in 1:48, didn’t walk at all during the run EXCEPT during water breaks 🙂 semi-zombie mode while on my way to office though.

all in all, i covered a total of 28.70 kms this week.

28.70 kilometers combined with work-related stress is not good for me. late to bed and early to rise, makes maan unhealthy and cranky and absent-minded. lol. we had a huge city-wide event last friday, and i was in charge of district 4 registration together with 3 other people. i wasn’t the friendliest staff on deck, i kept forgetting who’s who, and i almost raised my voice at this poor old woman who didn’t know where to register. in fairness nakakalito naman talaga kasi. i ended up being treated to a cup of dirty ice cream at 9:30 am and drinking two cans of sodas at 11:30 am, just to keep myself alive-alert-awake-enthusiastic.

this weekend we went to the beach… and i did nothing but sleep. 10 hours to be exact. 🙂 it was my chance to get to know everyone in the division, but i wasn’t really in the mood to socialize and get drunk. with a really comfy bed, fluffy pillows, and the aircon vent aimed straight at me, i gave up trying to be the friendly new-hire and just went to sleep. oh and i should probably mention the fact that i couldn’t finish a single can of san mig light anymore. and i coughed after downing a shot of emperador light. such a kill joy.

on a personal note, i’m happy to know that i still got it. sorry boys but i’m already happily taken 😉

is back?

i’ve been quite busy these past two weeks, i can’t believe it’s already mid-may. so much has already happened…

the entire family went home to cebu last april to spend 11 days with our bajillion relatives from our mom’s side… we do this every two years during holy week, as per tradition. we hung out at the beach, ate lechon, updated everyone with our lives, and in my case, get to know and spend time with my cousinsss since i’m the eldest grandkid. nice. everytime i see them it makes me feel a lot older. one of them even called me auntie. gah! i hope she was kidding. lol

the timing could not be more perfect —  i had to take some time off from running because of undiagnosed knee problems. ‘undiagnosed’ because i got too lazy to see a professional haha. just before the trip ended, the boyfriend called to tell me that Milo-APEX is starting in May, perfect timing for when i get back home. 🙂 so all in all, i took a month off from running and biking, and focused my energies on recovering from the stupid knee pain, and getting as much sleep and food in me before i started with APEX.

when we got back from cebu, it was just a matter of hours before i started with my new job. of course, the best part was shopping for new clothes! 🙂 i tried on several smart casuals in different stores and smirked at myself in the mirror every time. white collared button-down blouses? black slacks? loafers? it is so not me, i don’t normally do smart casuals except when necessary. a white-and-black get-up is boring but it’s protocol so i don’t really have much choice but to abide by it… and would you actually believe i’m starting to like the feel of cotton + linen on my skin 🙂 i get to wear jeans every friday, which now feels heavier than slacks. hmm i’m slowly beginning to like smart casuals…

so what can i say about my new job? honestly i don’t know yet. it’s only been two weeks… two weeks of meetings and field work! they weren’t kidding when they said there was just SO MUCH work to do. asdfasdfasdfasdf. i’ve been waking up at 5:30 am, and coming home late at night because of APEX or traffic. sometimes i have to come in on saturdays for additional field or office work. kaloka. i’m so looking forward to the long weekend coming up! i wanna set up camp in zambales or hibernate in a really nice hotel room, or whatever. basta walang trabaho!

i joined the bgc group this week for milo apex, because qc is a session behind (and also because the boyfriend attends bgc. sana sa qc naman haha wishful thinking! lol). will join the qc group on their second week for a change… i logged in 20 kilometers this week. 4.89 on tuesday, 6.08 on thursday and 9.19 on saturday. this early in the program i’m already having doubts whether i can do a full marathon again, hahaha. i just hope i survive the whole program. 🙂

so… there. in other news, there are currently two countdowns in my calendar right now. two events — one is in 11 days, the other is in a month. gaaaah i can barely contain my excitement 😀
