Russ!

Image
Russ is 11. The first day I held Russ was one of the happiest days of my life! Becoming a mom was a lifetime dream come true for me. He was a gorgeous baby and sometimes I couldn't even get the nurses at the hospital to bring him to me because they thought he was so cute. Jason would have to go down and get him from the nursery. They called him Baby Elvis because he had a full head of dark hair with side burns. It was almost unnatural on a newborn. It has been very fun to watch him grow. His memory has always amazed me. At 2 years old he could identify which key on a key chain went with which car or door. That included his Grandma and Grandpa Gibson's key chains as well! That was pretty cool until the day he used those keys to get into our car without my knowledge and locked himself in there. He was only there for minutes but it was a very hot summer day and scared his mom! Unfortunetly, he didn't show me that he also knew how to let himself out until after I had called the police station to help me get him out immediately. His memory is still incredible. If we need to find something we always ask Russ because he will usually remember where he has last saw it and go get it. His Grandpa Nelson enjoys having Russ as his farm help because he always has a mental inventory of where all the tools Grandpa will need are. Russ loves being a Boy Scout because he gets to learn about a lot of different things. He also loves doing anything that has to do with building. His favorite building project right now is his Lego Mindstorm Robot. He also likes to Swim, play basketball, ride his bike and jump on his Pogo Stick. We are so happy he is part of our family.
