You are more than all of this
And by “all of this” I mean…well, *gestures broadly with arms*.
Hello overworked human, you belong here. ❤️
About Ruth
I’m a poet, indie author, and corporate worker bee trying to hold a creative life together while raising two small humans in a country that still feels a little borrowed.
About the books
Each book of the Mor(e) series is a deep dive into a part of our lives. Wrapped in something beautiful. Scattered with hidden gems. With an after taste of something like devastation.
Book 1: Mor(e) than Motherhood
Book 2: Mor(e) than work (coming soon)
About this Substack: The Overwhelmed Creative
A lot of us are just really fucking tired.
I’m not here with a five-step plan. I don’t believe poetry books will “fix” capitalism. I’m not pretending to have answers.
I just know I’m heartbroken by how tired we all are, when there’s still so much good work in us. And I want to talk about that.
Because, fuck it, honestly? Sometimes I wish someone could save me. Most days I don’t know how to save myself. Writing these books is the only way I know how to try.

My pledge to you is that every penny will go towards publishing and paying independent creatives (artists, editors, etc) for their contributions.
