Essentially, L is a low-key Sherlock Holmes expy whose overall career vibe is more shadowy, political, and jetsetty.
He will be scrutinizing the heck out of your characters upon meeting them. He's observant, intelligent, and intensely analytical, but he's not psychic--that's where we draw a definite line.
His interests are in a baseline level of things like "more or less good/bad/honest/dishonest/smart/stupid" and whether or not he likes or dislikes a person: it's just a quick assessment based on impressions and behavior. He would also definitely notice things like your character's age, height, weight, ethnicity, any distinctive speech patterns, body language, and so on. He's skeptical of most people until he has a reason not to be, and when it comes to what he can figure out: it's a certain extent of
how you are, not
what you've done.
I can watch clips from a canon and say how I think he would initially react to a given character on a strict positive/negative basis, or based on their canonical body language, but any actual detailed knowledge has to come out through interaction and observation. Even things like whether or not he thinks of your character as smart or honest will come out mostly through threads.
You might want to tell me where to tread lightly; on the other hand, you may have some things you want him to pick up on for the purposes of interesting interactions!
There are a few other considerations:
- L is a CRAU from
ataraxion, with a pull point of January 2015. He was there for several years, which means he saw a lot of characters come and go. He wasn't close to many, but he may still have been aware of a different version of yours --
especially if they were from a canon set in space (space games get a lot of those). Some relevant canons he ran into: Star Trek (TOS, TNG, AOS), Star Wars (including EU/Legends), Battlestar Galactica, MCU (pre-AOU), X-Men, Heroes, various comics (DC, Marvel, Vertigo), Discworld, James Bond, Supernatural, Teen Wolf.
To what extent is it OK to incorporate this in interactions between our characters? He'd probably err on the side of caution in most cases, but on the other hand, you might want to use his previous knowledge as a CR shortcut, or he may be able to talk to your character about people who are important to them.
- Is L allowed to hack your character's private network messages where/if it's feasible? Do you want a heads up if he does?
- If you feel up to it, would you mind listing a few things that you think are safe to say would be common knowledge about your character for anyone who watches the network? This is just a timesaver for me and a way to keep all the information about other characters in one place: don't feel obligated.
