RZ Nicolet is me! (It’s also a transparent pseudonym — my real name can fall prey to the Scunthorpe problem.) Sedna has been my WordPress handle since the ol’ days.

I’m a data scientist with a background in the physical sciences, and a love of speculative fiction. Expect plenty of discussion at the intersection of tech, science, and fiction, along with worldbuilding and stories that don’t find a home elsewhere.

On the longer-fiction front, I have many plans. The Big Plan involves an optimistic series of hard science fiction novels about very non-human aliens. I’ve also got a lighter urban fantasy novel currently in revision for publication circa 2026. Wish me luck!

I promise 100% human-crafted content. I’m professionally familiar with generative AI, and honestly… I’d rather write my stories myself. (I’ll allow spellcheck. All hail Lord Tyops.)

My plan is to have a post up at least on the 19th of every month. (Why the 19th? Well, maybe I’ll write a post about that eventually.)
