About the Project
‘Tabo’ was a master project for which I embarked on a challenging yet enlightening journey to create a subversive magazine that delves into the realm of a taboo subject . This project was not just about magazine design; it was an exploration of societal boundaries and the power of media in challenging preconceived notions, at the same time breaking rules “correctly” in terms of design. The magazine’s core objective was to shed light on the less masculine things men do, a topic often shrouded in controversy.

About the Design Approach
The design approach is visually striking and intentionally provocative through the chosen images and texts. The front cover presents a bold statement with a visually compelling image that challenges traditional beauty standards and gender roles. The interior spreads maintain this boldness with large, assertive typography and a clean, modern layout that balances text with imagery. The use of high-contrast images and quotes highlights the magazine’s subversive angle, as well us the upside down table of content and running titles, which are engaging readers in a visual dialogue.
