We had the great opportunity to visit Nauvoo over spring break. We had such a wonderful time! There are so many pictures to show and I only chose some of my favorites.
The Statue of Christ at the visitor center was special for Miranda. When she saw it she went and sat down and had a quiet moment. She told us later about how much she felt the spirit and how special it was.

To the right is the brick mason shop where we learned about how they made bricks.
Baby Keagan was a trooper!

We went on a carriage ride to see the whole town.
It would not be right to say the kids behaved prefect the whole time so I caught a moment on film. I snapped this shot without him knowing and it made him ever more angry.
But moments later we went into the gun shop and he was happy as can be.

This is us making rope as a family in the family living center.
One of the main reasons we were able to go and have so much fun was because of this great lady. My Aunt Terry and Uncle Russ are serving as missionaries in Nauvoo. It was so fun to go and be with them. They are living in the William Mendenhall historic home which is my great, great, great, great, grandfather. (I think that is the right number of greats) We were able to stay with them in that little home and it was so fun to share that history together.
The kids got to try out how school would have been during historic Nauvoo time, Miranda said later she thought it would have been very boring.
On the Mississippi River!
Walking down the path of the Trail of Hope
By the end of our three day trip the kids were so tired. We were running them hard each day to see and do lots of things. One night at dinner Jackson walked over the Uncle Russ, put his head down and fell right to sleep on his lap.
We had such a wonderful time and hope we can go back some time soon.
