The lottery for the 2026-2027 school year opened on November 9, 2024 and closed on March 1, 2026.

An application can be submitted online anytime after the deadline but will not be included in the lottery and will be entered in the order it was received.

First, create an account by using your email or phone number. Once this is done you will be able to apply to as many schools on your application as you would like.

If you already have an account, you will use this same login information each year that you apply. Take time to decide what best suits your student.

The 2026-2027 school lottery is scheduled for March 1, 2026 for all schoolappkc participating schools. You will recieve a notification via your preferred communication method, either text message or email.

You will either be made an offer or be placed on a waitlist. You can receive multiple offers, but you can only accept one of the offers.

You may submit an application after the March 1, 2026 lottery deadline. If there is a waitlist in the grade at the school/s you have applied to your application will be added to the waitlist in the order that it was received. The school(s) you applied to will contact you when they have space available.

Once you receive notification of an offer, access your account at www.schoolappkc.org and accept or decline the offers. You can, however, remain on a waitlist while accepting a seat at another school. If you are made an offer from the waitlist at a later date, you can accept that offer but you will be removed from any other school that you previously accepted a seat with. The system will only allow you to hold one seat at a time.

Once you accepted your seat, you will receive enrollment instructions through text and email from the school directly. You will complete your enrollment with the one school that you have selected.
